tourniquet Posted October 23, 2017 (edited) some brilliant stuff, just make sure to use Obsidian's link since the ones in the OP don't work any longer... 0 Share this post Link to post
Reisal Posted October 23, 2017 See if anything here fancies your interest. They are what is all that remain that I downloaded from a website titled "Laura's MIDI Heaven". 1 Share this post Link to post
therektafire Posted October 24, 2017 I found a 51,000 song midi archive the other day and have found a couple of pretty good songs in it so far, a lot of generic piano pieces to wade through though... here is the link https://archive.org/details/archiveteam-geocities-midi-collection-2009 There is also a zip file I have with some community midis from various authors and projects, I got the link from somewhere on here but I don't remember where sadly, anyway here is a link to it on my google drive https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5FslPkMZ2kzdF9OX1gtOThQX28/view?usp=drivesdk 0 Share this post Link to post

They show up without file endings 0 Share this post Link to post
therektafire Posted October 24, 2017 Hmmm, well they aren't mine per se since like I said they are community midis that were originally uploaded by someone else, but I have 2 possible explanations as to why some of them (but not all) don't have extensions 1. The ones without extensions are MUS files and not midi, or 2. The person who put the song in the wad it was taken from removed the extension so adding .mid to the end should work assuming they are actually midis and not mus 0 Share this post Link to post
NeedHealth Posted October 24, 2017 (edited) I can then only assume they are *.mus because I tried adding .mid and it errored out. Thanks ! Edited October 24, 2017 by NeedHealth : theres no i in mid 0 Share this post Link to post

If I remember rightly, the compilation doesn't contain too many MUS files, but those can be converted to MIDI in slade 3. 1 Share this post Link to post
NeedHealth Posted October 24, 2017 I'll try out slade to see if it fixes the problems then. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted October 24, 2017 You'll probably need to add .mus to the file extension so that SLADE reads it as such - but just because it wasn't complicated enough yet, not everything in that compilation without a file extension was a MUS - take the BTSX and Ancient Aliens soundtracks for example, those are plain MIDIs. They've been ripped out of their WADs but when you do this you have to have the filename as *ignored*.mid Might be quicker to just open said PWADs in SLADE and extract them yourself to be honest. 0 Share this post Link to post
NeedHealth Posted October 24, 2017 Dutifully noted and pasted into an notepad document. 0 Share this post Link to post
Protester Posted October 24, 2017 I don't want to hijack the thread any but i was about to post something really similiar, i was looking for some more ambient/atmospheric midis but wasn't having much luck. 0 Share this post Link to post

Skunky Beaumont Posted October 30, 2017 Well..... I'm totally a composer. I've got some .mp3 versions of midi tracks I did hosted here:http://tindeck.com/users/EvilEddieB , as well as some other things. I've got a soundcloud account as well: https://soundcloud.com/ed-bonenfant. Let me know what you think. 0 Share this post Link to post
