Sephiroth Posted October 27, 2002 in a communications class i remeber a few humorous things about advertising. translate our common phrase "got milk" into spanish it asks "are you lactating?" cars have been horribly sold too. one american car ment "rusty" in some other language. also i think a ford car ment "slut" in german or russian. there was an italian drink, 70's, called rotten. a russian soft drink called penis. I know pepsi translates into placenta in some pacific asian language. nike named a shoe the incubus, this was a few years back. recalled after a few days. I cant think of any others right now, had a much bigger list. 0 Share this post Link to post

QTW, there was a shampoo in japan called pee. as for nike (not that I buy or like any of their shoes) they named a shoe after the haruchai. they were a kick ass race of fighter in the cchronicles of thomas covenant the unbeliver, by stephen r. donaldson. thats something not many picked up on. 0 Share this post Link to post
