Good job coming out and embracing who you are, it definitely takes courage to do so! Anyone who is anti-gay is an idiot, put simply - it was torture listening to all these 100% nonsensical arguments from people as to why gay marriage shouldn't be legal. The law was only very recently passed here in Aus, so a lot of the anti-gay arguments are still somewhat fresh in my mind. Every single one I heard was pure and utter bullshit upon examination.

More power to you, Blastfrog.

(I keep it out of most of my life, though.)

On top of that, I'm non-binary, gray-asexual, and a rapidly leftening socialist. (None of this is news to most people who know me, I'm just saying.) I'm also super into vaporwave and aesthetic. If I dyed my hair I'd be a complete stereotype.

ps Blastfrog congratulations on coming out.

I mean, that's basically saying you're perfectly fine with gianthuge monopolies that are idealistically prevent from literally serving toxic products by the fact that you could just buy from someone else, but realistically all other options got assimilated or couldn't compete at all due to having to have actual prices.

Thank you all for the support, when you've internalized hatred such as "this is wrong and therefore you should not reveal it and work to change yourself" it's very difficult to come forward publicly. Though they're under a different part of the LGBT umbrella, I'd like to thank @esselfortium and @Csonicgo for being brave enough to share their stories, it made me realize that I'm not alone and that there is a lot more support out there than I had previously thought. It made it a lot easier to post what I did. Ignorance and hate can only stop me from following my path in life if I allow it to, and the first step is to leave my comfort zone and not hide any longer.

Edit: to note, I'd prefer to leave political discussion on the wayside, it tends not to turn out well.

I also distinctly remember questioning my own gender at about 4 or 5, thinking that I'd rather not have one at all, I'm just me, I do what interests me and I don't like the idea of being expected to conform to some preset of appearance and behavior.

Not sure what to make of that, however.

Favorite Movie Genre: Sci-Fi, Adventure, and Action.

Favorite Food: Frankly, I think I have no such thing.

Favorite Holiday: Halloween.

Favorite Memory: Hm... either playing CS in LAN with a former classmate when I was in the 7th grade which was pure madness, or staying for 2 weeks at a castle with some of them and playing Resident Evil and Burnout during night time. We used to be called "the Playstation family" lol, but I had such a great time I'll never forget the experience and the surroundings, it was, quite possibly, a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Worst Memory: At some point I mentioned that I wasn't bullied in school in the literal sense of the word, however, I've been through a large number of embarrasing experiences, for instance I was once hanged upside down on the wardrobe (yeah, what the fuck, and I am not kidding, you can just imagine how those 8yrs were like), and stupid things I've done for people in the now distant past.

Age: 21.

Favorite Outfit: My metal outfit, basically the knee-high leather boots with black jeans and a black shirt (be it with or without a band), with one of the black or dark colored jackets.

Favorite Genre of Music: Old school death and black metal, however I also listen to other genres such as dark ambient and folk. I can't stand gothic, brutal death, nu, and the -core thingies however, and the music has to represent me in one way or another.

Most Hated Genre of Music: What we're calling around here "commercial music", hip-hop, disco, dubstep, but honestly in general I loathe anything that lacks solid talent, vision, and meaning. Any form of art that is meaningless can simply not be considered as such. Also music is no longer what it used to be in the '60s - '90s anyway.

Left Handed or Right Handed: Right.

Worst Injury: Cutting my left palm in glass, I still remember the river of blood that was flowing out of it while I was cleaning the wound, I lost so much blood I could no longer feel it anymore at some point, so it wasn't painful actually, but nasty, no doubt about this. Oddly, the injury has left me virtually no scars, like it never existed in the first place. Despite this, no physical injury comes close to what I've been through emotionally or mentally.

Favorite Hobby: Gaming, spending time in nature during night time, listening to music and actually connecting to it on a personal level, and reading.

Your Definition of Success: Fulfilling all my aspirations and desires.

In your opinion, are situations typically black and white: It depends, but typically no, that tends to be a vast oversimplification.

Favorite food: pizza

Favorite holiday: halloween

Favorite memory: When I was a baby my dad said "when you grow up you wont remember any of this". Thats one of my earliest memories from back then.

Worst memory: Probably getting expelled from private school as a kid, my immature kid behavior really didnt cut it for them.

Age: 20 1/2

Favorite outfit: not sure

Favorite genre of music: Metal. The 80s is definitely my favorite music era.

Worst genre of music: Rap/hip hop. There are some okay songs, but tbqh I think I like the other genres a little more.

Left handed or right handed: Right

Worst injury: Just a minor wrist sprain as a teen. My wrist still clicks when I bend it back and forth.

Favorite hobby: Playing video games, playing guitar, listening to music, and welding stuff out of my garage (more of a job than a hobby)

Your definition of success: Getting a good job and living a stress-free life

In your opinion, are situations typically black and white: After thinking about it for way too long, I think it depends. Our perception changes and so does the world, Sometimes things are black and white, other times not.

@Blastfrog Congrats on coming out, nobody will think any differently of you. If there's one really good thing about Doomworld is that it's extremely progressive when it comes to individuals' orientation and/or their lifestyle.

As for me I'm a bi male twink with a strong feminine side in a gay relationship. I'm also a sadist but the kinky kind, usually!

Tbh I think we kinda make things unnecessarily harder for ourselves by agreeing to use terms such as straight, gay, etc. Probably nobody is 100% straight or 100% gay or whatever, and trying to fit yourself into any of these categories is just putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. It's like you can't be at peace unless you find some group to belong to, but if you really think about it that's kinda pointless and self-limiting, isn't it? I much rather prefer to say "I like both boys and girls" instead of "I'm bisexual". It conveys the same message but doesn't put me under some weird label that might give people wrong expectations and not describe me entirely accurately.

Favorite Movie Genre: Action/Sci-Fi (though not so much the modern stuff)

Favorite Food: Not really a favorites person here.

Favorite Holiday: Christmas

Favorite Memory: Having a day out with a friend last week, which, given the circumstances, made it the best time I've had for a long while.

Worst Memory: Barring the obvious, I'd say being hospitalized after a domestic fight. I ended up being moved where I am now, so it turned out alright.

Age: 25

Favorite Outfit: T-shirt and jeans. That's p much 98% of what I have.

Favorite Genre Of Music: Classic Rock

Most Hated Genre of Music: Modern Hip-Hop

Left Handed or Right Handed: Right

Worst Injury: Ground up elbow in biking injury. Never went to the hospital for it, so it's all scar instead of skin.

Favorite Hobby: Swimming

Your Definition of Success: Being capable of not only sustaining yourself, but helping others as well.

In your opinion, are situations typically black and white: I'd assume such, but in practice it's not really true. Life is far too complex to shove things in one category or another.

I agree with you. If it wasn't for being in a gay relationship you'd think I was straight, seeing as I grew up liking women and am more picky with men, but bisexuals can flipflop. I also don't like to wear my orientation on my sleeve like some do, I honestly don't care, whether people know or not, I'm not afraid of retaliation and I don't require the 'protection' of some special interests group claiming to have my back like they're the mob. But whatever makes some people happier.

Goes both ways, sometimes it can be helpful, sometimes not, but it all depends on the given situation. Here on Doomworld, people won't mind as long as you aren't a pedophile or have fantasies about rape, but it gets bizarre sometimes, like:

Spoiler

Me: I don't really like girls.

Other person: Oh, so you are ga---

Me: I don't like boys either.

Other person: ...

Other person: Oh you mean you like bo---

Me: No I don't like either of them.

Other person: ...

Other person: Then you must like one of those in betwe---?

Me: No.

Me: No sexual attraction a t   a l l.

Other person: ...

Other person: *dial-up noises*

Other person: So you just gave up or did something happ--?

Me: No, its all natural, fine and dandy. Lord made me this way and that is how it is.

Other person: ...

Other person: *dial-up noises*

Other person: IS NOT   M E D I C A L L Y   P O S S I B L E---!!!

In this particular instance, knowledge that blobs like me exist kinda help, but yeah, when I think about it, that knowledge is mostly for the practicality of it, that is why we have diffrent words for diffrent things and don't call goats "The NotSheeps" or something :D

That's actually pretty common among women. But that's just it, a fantasy. Obviously no woman would want to be raped for real, outside of a very kinky role play.

Well, pedophiles probably shouldn't be ostracized either, I mean it's not like one day they woke up and just decided "okay, I'm going to be into little children now!". They probably feel even more lonely than gays who can't come out. When you're a pedophile, you really have almost nobody to talk to (even on the internet), and revealing that part of yourself can make many people hate you forever. THAT'S tough.

If a pedophile hasn't harmed a minor, I don't think they should be ostracized either but I do think they should be heavily encouraged to seek help. I agree that they probably have no say in the fact that children sexually excite them, but it's still a dangerous sexual urge to have that will probably eventually ruin their life and potentially someone else's.

Favourite Movie Genre: Anything good. That means pandering brain-dead focus-tested garbage masquerading as feature films from Illumination Entertainment or other similarly-minded corporations are out of the question. I like good comedies (Ace Ventura, Airplane!, Naked Gun), action movies, Sci-Fi (Star-Wars), animated films (The Iron Giant), surrealism (Scott Pilgrim versus the World).

Favourite Food: The majority of the things that my mom makes. She knows how to cater her cooking for each individual person's tastes (i.e. she knows what I dislike and will make me something else even though everyone else is getting the thing thing that I dislike).

Favourite Holiday: Christmas with my extended family.

Favourite Memory: Spending time with my extended family. I don't have many friends so I kind of rely pretty heavily on them.

Worst Memory: A collection of shitty things that happened while I was in middle school. In my first year of middle school (Grade 6) all the friends I had that were in my grade basically abandoned me simultaneously and started treating me like shit. One of them was my cousin. That one hurt.

Age: 19

Favourite Outfit: A pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a hoodie and a hat for most situations. You will not see me wear anything else most of the time. I also have a belt with a steel-caste buckle featuring a dragon. In formal situations I like me a good suit, which will include a vest if you are going for what I consider a proper suit and not what most people claim to be a suit. I also like a good fedora.

Favourite Genre Of Music: Rock, but basically anything that's good. I lean more towards Classic Rock but I do enjoy some newer stuff and some Metal from time-to-time. My favourite sub-genre of rock is whatever you call the type of music played by Boston (I don't know what you'd call it), I'm referring specifically to the style of the song Peace of Mind, this song represents the exact opposite of everything I hate about modern music.

Most Hated Genre of Music: Hip-Hop, Rap, Pop, Party Rock, what most people seem to consider to be 'modern Country', etc. Basically anything formulaic and mass-produced by a corporate entity that is trying to cash in on a common desire to live 'carefree', holds the message of: 'Party every second of your life or you're a pessimist and a terrible person! Ignorance is the only way to live! Be a self-absorbed asshole who only cares about sex, alcohol and drugs!' and/or anything with absolutely abysmal, repetitive and/or non-existent instrumentation and/or lyrics.

Left Handed or Right Handed: Right

Worst Injury: Once when I was riding a bike down the side of a mountain I ended up going too fast so I pressed the brakes... and the bike went faster... I now have a scar on my forehead but beyond that there were no major injuries. I am one of the few people I know who has never broken a bone or sprained an ankle, I've been rather lucky in that I can never manage to jinx myself enough for there to be consequences. And I grew up on a farm surrounded by large machinery and animals.

Favourite Hobby: I'm a gamer and an artist. Also I make Doom maps which should be obvious given the site this is posted on.

Your Definition of Success: Not having any severe regrets about anything. I'm paranoid about screwing something up and regretting it for the rest of my life with no way of resolving it. Because of that I only post maybe one in five of the responses I type out on this site. It is unreal how much time I waste typing out a single response only to decide that it isn't worth posting.

In your opinion, are situations typically black and white: Depends on the situation, but usually no. People are complex, and usually their motives are complex. I find that there is some kind of good intention behind most motives, but if any side advocates anything that directly harms people as an intended effect that side automatically loses any hold it had in the morally grey area.

Favorite Movie Genre: Sci-fi, fantasy
Favorite Food: Burritos
Favorite Holiday: None
Favorite Memory: Maybe the dancing in my dream last night, flying dreams or when I do something completely ordinary in a dream and the dream stays stable...
Worst Memory: When some cops arrested me when I was about 15 and forced me to take off my clothes, it gave me some post traumatic stress/anxiety disorder that has lasted for years, it has only recently become more tolerable
Age: 32 and 9 months
Favorite Outfit: Depends what I'm doing, really like the tank top my brother made/painted for me with snakes on it, and this open coat/shirt that's black outside and pink inside
Favorite Genre Of Music: Electronic, classical piano and harpsichord stuff
Most Hated Genre of Music: Neighbour singing that "crying sailor" nearly every morning
Left Handed or Right Handed: Mostly right, but I'll try to use the left too..
Worst Injury: Some head bumpings, the first major one or the one in 2016
Favorite Hobby: Running
Your Definition of Success: Doing your best, doesn't matter if succeed or fail
In your opinion, are situations typically black and white: No

Favourite Movie Genre: Not really genre, but how the film is made. For action, John Woo, John McTiernan, Steven Spielberg and Paul Verhoeven are legends. For great storytelling, no one can beat Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch. For thrillers, William Friedkin is pretty good (just look at The French Connection). For comedy, the earlier Zucker brothers films were great.

Favourite Food: CHIPS!!!

Favourite Holiday: Probably Christmas.

Worst Memory: Let's just say the first 14 years of my life, that and my parents divorcing. Being an autistic, socially awkward redhead in the UK doesn't really help, either.

Favourite Memory: Though, in spite of the divorce, I moved to France, and I've got some very good friends. Making those new friends was wonderful.

Age: 17

Favourite Outfit: Anything that doesn't look stupid.

Favourite Genre Of Music: Don't have a favourite genre, really, but specific groups (like Pet Shop Boys, a-ha, and the like).

Most Hated Genre of Music: Again, not really a genre, but anything post-2000 is godawful.

Left Handed or Right Handed: Left

Worst Injury: Falling off of a tree and getting a nasty scar on my leg (I was maybe 7 when this happened).

Favourite Hobby: Writing scripts for films.

Your Definition of Success: Making those who deserve happiness and understanding... well, happy.

In your opinion,  are situations typically black and white: Never.
