I'm also interested in expansions and add-ons for games I already have, official (i.e. Malice for Quake) and unofficial (i.e. Zaero for Quake II). I'm not interested in pure data discs (i.e. D!Zone) unless they have some exclusive content (i.e. H!Zone for Heretic has exclusive episodes), though I have several. I am interested in the same game on multiple formats if it comes with additional or different content on each format (i.e. Doom on PC and Doom on PS1). Where the game is from and it's language also doesn't matter (i.e if it was released in the U.S, Germany etc). Avoozl Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) If you can ignore the older quality graphics you might like to try Hidden And Dangerous 2 plus expansion pack Sabre Squadron which can be bought together from GoG or Steam, it was released around the same year as CoD1 but it was overlooked because of the latter. I personally find it to be a much better game since it requires much more tactical skill rather than simply running and gunning, you can choose between squad or lone wolf modes too. You can also switch between first and third person view. Also I see that you have played a few James Bond games, I would suggest you also play Agent Under Fire but especially Everything or Nothing, but if you don't use their required consoles anymore then you can always emulate them both if you have good enough hardware, but only if you don't have any personal issues with emulation. You can get the remastered version of Perfect Dark if you don't mind replying that old game with better graphics, sound, and fixed code, but only if you use any of the newer XBOX consoles since the 360. Wraith777 Posted February 20, 2018 Well, judging by your list I can only name a few titles:Depth Dwellers Poor (literary) little shooter from 1994, uninspired, slow and boring as hell. Only redeeming feature (not so much though) - Stereographic 3D mode, you only need to find proper glasses. Radix: Beyond the Void Imagine Descent and Doom having a baby - this would be Radix. You fly your ship in DooM-like levels, complete with 2.5d graphics and physics. Even though it came out after Descent it's still a good game from Doom-clone era. Quiver The artwork is pretty bad and everything looks mostly brown/gray, but otherwise it's an ok shooter. Game engine technically is something between Doom and RoTT . Level architecture is tile-based, but has diagonal walls and some tiles are lifts, there are even multiple floors, so it's actually more 3d than Doom (much like RoTT was). Some weapons are cool also. Vivisector: Beast Within From the makes of Chasm:the Rift and Carnivores series comes this Island of dr. Moro-themed Serious Sam-like shooter. Finally you have an opportunity to shoot a living flesh (yes, literary) out of furies. Nice quality guaranteed. 0 Share this post Link to post

In fact there was several I was impressed you have; Urban Chaos, Mob Enforcer, Will Rock, Warpath, Pariah The only other I can think of is War: Final Assault , however that is strictly an arcade game. It has two modes, a campaign that can be played coop if you have 4 machines (its only maybe an hour long at most though) and a deathmatch mode similar to Unreal Tournament and Quake 3. 0 Share this post Link to post

Vermil Posted February 21, 2018 Thanks for the responses and information. I personally don't consider games like Defiance, Radix and Heretic 2 as FPS. I also only listed the FPS games I physically own (i.e non digital games). Gore is indeed not the same game as Gore Galore. I've played several pie in the sky engine based games and most of them play very similarly to each other. C&C Renegade is better than it's given credit for in my opinion. I have it but had accidently marked it as an RTS (I guess I instinctively copy and pasted RTS when adding the other C&C games I own) on my list of games, hence why it isn't in the above list. I've found out about some budget military themed PC FPS I don't have in the interim; 'Beyond Normandy -- Assignment Berlin' and 'Operation - Blitzsturm'. As you can imagine, both are WWII themed. Also the first two 'Terrorist Takedown' games, 'Conflict in Mogadishu' and 'U.S Navy Seals'. 0 Share this post Link to post

Shadowcaster; I have that game but I hadn't yet assigned a genre to it on my list that I made my OP list from (a good side effect of this thread is that I have made a couple of corrections to my list). I've found an obscure FPS: Congo The Movie: Descent into Zinj; we'll see if it is a bad game of the film or a good one. Older-ish action/horror shooters by Surreal Software from the early 2000's. They can be played in both first-person and third-person (it's just preference, and can be switched back and forth at any time). I haven't played them in many years, but I remember really enjoying their atmosphere and combat, with some pretty creative monster designs. Could be worth checking out. They're not available on Steam (I have no idea why), but you can pick up the Windows versions on GoG for like $3. They were also released for PS2 and Xbox, which is how I originally played them. Gez Posted December 17, 2019 In Extremis is worth a look for a collection of obscure vintage shooters. The engine is basically an advanced Wolf 3D (limited to a cube grid, but fully textured, and with dynamic colored light effects), gameplay is more survival horror than run and gun.
