Opening doom levels e1m1 etc.

When I download doom wads some of them are set to levels like e1m1 not levelxx. So how do open these types of levels. I tried putting it on pause and typing idcleve1m1 but it wont open. What do I do to access these types of levels   e1m1 etc.

e1m1 would be a doom 1 wad, so make sure you're using doom.wad as your IWAD.

and when you idclev in doom, don't type "e" and "m", just type it the way you would in doom 2. so e1m1 would be idclev11. something like e3m7 would be idclev37.
