Anybody know any good animated skyboxes? Preferably at least hires.

I want to tack on some new stuff to my Rabid's Crap mod.  I think animated skyboxes would be fantastic, but I can't find any that don't require editing maps.  It's supposed to be a mod that can be used pretty much universally (well, with GZDoom).  It's coming along well.  Just...when I get something in my head, I gotta find it!

Can you use animated skyboxes in GZDoom? Man, native support for something like a 360 video would be amazing...

No, I meant a 360 degree video. Imagine what you could do with support for that!

But back on OP's question, I'm not sure exactly what he means by "animated". Like a GIF? Or does he mean create a moving level and use a SkyViewpoint thing?

I've seen ones on Youtube that at least seem to rotate.  But aren't there any that have clouds moving across the sky or something?

My guess is to do this you'd need to make some kind of animated texture via ANIMDEFS, and then use that?

Seems the way to go in general is to make a SkyBox and then work your way from there.

Dragonfly, that's awesome!  Is that something that can be put into a mod pack, or would it have to be integrated into a wad?  I don't know if I'd know how to make it replace the standard skies in a mod pack.

Currently you'd have to implement it into a WAD yourself, might be worth dropping a note over on the linked thread to see if you can find someone to make a pack for you. :)

Eradrop's animated sky makes E1's Chinese sky look like an amateur hour afterthought.
