Map Making Tips

Other then reading up on the available literature and tutorials all I can suggest to play as many pwads by others and see how and what they did to vonstruct the maps.

If you want a little idea on how one of the ID devs did map designs, here's one of them (the guy who covered this vid may do other devs at some point I'm not too sure...)

oh i know chubbz, ive watched some of his tutorials. and thanks btw

List and get familiar with all the hotkeys. It will save you a lot of time in the long run, a real game-changer. 

Wish i knew them all in my first year of mapping.

How do I look at hotkeys or change them?

LOL please refer to Kappes Buur's post above yours. It will show you where all the hotkeys are listed. 

I recommend messing around with them all and experimenting until they become second nature. Knowing all the useful ones will make mapping so much easier and faster and therefore more enjoyable.

Open GZDBBF or GZDB or DBX or DB2

Then follow Tools - Preferences - Controls to view/change the hotkeys.

To print them out, I provided a link how to do that above.

But really, get to know your editor.
