ide problem

I was wondering if anybody could help me out here. I have attempted to play doom online using internet doom explorer but whenever I try to "start server" it says "Cannot find a game lwad (doom.wad doomii.wad, heretic.wad etc.)did you install zdoom properly?"
I have reinstalled zdoom and filled in the iwad things and it still says this.
What the hells goin on?

Do you have Doom2.wad in your game folder? (eg: C:\zdoom, c:\zdaemon)

I have put a doom wad, as in a link to the iwad for the ultimate doom ( the version of doom I have, obviously).
Do I need to have doom 2, as I do have a copy of it, but not installed on the computer?

For it to work you need the Doom or DoomII (which ever Iwad you need) in the same folder with all the Zdaemon and CsDoom or Doomconnector, IDE and all that jazz. When they are all in the same folder, then they should work properly.

It still ain't workin'.
I am using the ultimate doom for windows 95. Is it possible that I should select plutonia or tnt?

The games you are trying to join, are they Ultimate Doom Iwad games or DoomII Iwad games?

Because if you only have UDoom, u can only Join UDoom games.

On top of that, good luck finding an Ultimate Doom server.

So I can't use a doom (1) server if i'm using ultimate doom then?

Ultimate Doom IS Doom 1. There are IWADS needed by servers, which can vary :

Doom.wad - needed to play Ultimate Doom servers

Doom2.wad - needed to play Doom2 servers and DWANGO5 servers and shit.

Tnt.wad - for TNT : Evilution servers

Plutonia.wad - for Plutonia servers

Heretic.wad - for Heretic servers on ZDaemon 1.02

In IDE, do you have the Iwad paths selected?

in the Options 2 tab it will have Iwad location: and it will have

Doom: <box Dee-Lee goes here>

Doom2: <box Dee-Lee goes here>

Plutonia: <box Dee-Lee goes here>

TNT: <box Dee-Lee goes here>


You have to put the correct Iwad and the Iwad's location in the slots.


Make sure U also have Zdaemon and CSDoom (if you have it) in their Slots below the iwad's.

I have done this and checked it about a hundred times to make sure it is correct and it still says "Cannot find a game lwad (doom.wad doomii.wad, heretic.wad etc.)did you install zdoom properly?"

The path to the iwad doesn't contain a space does it, like "program files\" etc, sometimes this fucks Doom games up, used to with Doomserv If IIRC

I'll just go and check it now.......

AHA, I had put the whole folder containing ide in the doom folder. I have now put just ide in and it is working, hoooooooorrrrrraaaayyyyyy!!!!!
