Very nice. The wallrun into the lift is sweet. Do you have a consistent method for the early lift drop?

Here's an 18.66 I got while shooting for 17 last year. I think if I hadn't gotten caught on 2 doors and also pressed the exit switch from further away, maybe I could have gotten it...

17 is definitely possible, I can feel it in my bones!

Strangely, DSDA doesn't have stx-vile's 18 from 2005 (the current record).

Hey, I just wanted to ask if anyone is allowed to submit here? Because I only just begun speedrunning and am not very good at it but would still like my best times up. Or is there some kind of threshold you have to meet for your times to be uploaded?

If anything goes for anyone, I'd like my first sub-11 Hangar uploaded please. :)

See this thread. Basically, all demos are welcome.

Thank you! I've read it once but I'll iterate through it more thoroughly when I have time. :)
And yeah, I figured anything would be welcome (it would be a strange speedrunning community who barred newcomers after all...) but also figured one should always be polite and ask. :)

Welcome to doom speedrunning 🙂

Please use zip format for archives 🙏

Thank you! Been doing it haphazardly now and then but finally getting "serious" (a serious casual, or a casual seriousness, now there's a conundrum) about it. But holy hell is E1M3 a newbie-blocker for a Knee Deep or even Ultimate run... :'(

Also, thanks for pointing out zip/rar, we *tend* to use rar at work so I guess it's a force of habit.

I attached my submission as zip this time!

I've got a whole bunch now, like the newb-cake I am.

On each for each E1 map, with the addition of:
One no-monster run for E1M4.
Nightmare runs for E1M1 and E1M2.

I hope it's okay to puke together a bunch like this, felt better than posting once every hour. :P It's just I'm done with E1 for now.

I'll be really disappointed with myself if I post this on the wrong section yet again.

@Alaux, don't worry, it's in the correct spot. :)

Phew.

Hey, do you have any idea on how to see the accurate time of my demos?

Probably the easiest way is to play the demo with the prboom+ source port (http://doomedsda.us/engines/prboom-plus2514.zip), which has a HUD which displays the time to the nearest decimal of a second (well technically, as close as it can mathematically estimate considering it's calculating 35 tics for each second). I believe you can get to this HUD by pressing F5 while in prboom+, either when playing or viewing a demo. If you slow down the demo (you can use the + and - keys to change demo playback speed or find the setting for it in the options menu), you should be able to easily see the precise time at the end of the level. There could be a better way to do it that I don't know of, but that's what I do and it works fine for me.

I checked your above E1M1 NM-Speed demo, and it was 9.86 seconds.
