What's the best Doom WAD of them all?

So I've been getting back into Doom recently and one thing I'm curious about is what the Doom community thinks is the best WAD.

My personal favourite is Contra Doom, I don't really know why but it looks cool.

So let me know which is your favourite.

That's very subjective... Well, to keep it simple and fun. I'll go with:-

Sunlust, Valiant, Darkencounter and Bloodstain.

Best megawads: Plutonia and alien vendetta

Best episodes: vanguard and UAC ultra

For what it's worth, this list might be exactly what you're looking for to get an idea.

As for my personal favourites, Scythe 2 is my favourite WAD (5th episode is best!).

Deus Vult II and Hell Revealed (or, more specifically, Hell Revealed starting at "City in the Clouds") are the best ever.

V2 of Boodstain that removes questionable block lines and adds another layer of polish. 

That's pretty subjective, but I know Switcheroom is one of my personal favorites

doom.wad of course. It's the face that launched a million mods.

If I had to pick just one, it'd definitely be Going Down (even if we're including IWADs in the possible contenders), at least in the megawad category. Single-map category would probably go to Miasma for me.

You silly humans trying to put things into boxes and atop podiums.

Just let things be things and stop trying to make things "the best" or "the worst" or comparing everything.

Anyway everybody knows Mock 2 is the greatest thing ever so you're all wrong.

Can't go wrong with Scythe (or its brilliant sequel)! Resurgence is also excellent, but I have yet to beat it...
