Xyzzу Posted November 29, 2019 (edited) Hey, everybody! These here are two vanilla-compatible maps I made a long time ago (3 years ago, at least!). I decided to polish and release them after rediscovering them on my old computer and realizing that real-life obligations and responsibilities simply won't allow me the time to make the project they were part of. I spiced up the second map a bit with some DeHackEd modifications, as well as a, uh, [squints] "mikoveyor"? Vanilla conveyor belt, yeah let's go with that! So, don't play this in GZDoom or whatever port that doesn't allow that cool stuff to happen. This was tested using Chocorenderlimits and PrBoom+ in complevel 2! ^u^ Gosh, it feels so good to finally release something... even if it's small y'know? Obligatory screenshots in that delicious (scaled up) 320x200 resolution! Spoiler Credits and bugs I'm aware of are in the textfile. Difficulty settings not implemented. Have fun! Use -merge if playing in Chocolate Doom! I have updated MAP02 with an improved boss fight. Very interesting maps, the second one got me with that Spoiler spectre-cyber demon I liked the minimal monster usage, made for a very different experience from most modern maps. Swalzi Posted November 30, 2019 Fun and deadly pair of maps. I like the use of minimal monsters. The map layouts were enclosed, but leaves enough space for the player to maneuver freely. Seeing the first enemy in my FDAs was a great use of lighting and it was cool. Freaking skeletons, man. I recorded five demos: two for map01, three for map02. I recorded the FDAs and "fric1-shoot" with Chocolate Doom. Map02-wins were recorded with PRBoom+ 2.5.1.4 -complevel 2. The graphical glitches in the platforming section was kind of distracting in Chocolate so I made the switch to PRBoom for that section. I didn't bother UV-maxing map02 because of that "Thing" and platforming section. It's too hardcore for me.Fricas-demos.rar Spoiler 2 Share this post Link to post
