After Doom was released

After Doom was released, what exactly did id software do? I've always wondered about this.

1. Get drunk
2. Make Doom2

Or something like that :)

Uh, they probably made Doom II. =P

I guess they was lazy some months and then they made Doom II.

Probably not lazy. They'd have to do some tech support, concept for their next game (Doom II), and of course they had to patch Doom oh-so-many times.

According to the Book of id (included in the id Anthology), "DOOM II was commenced almost immediately."

They did, since Romero pointed out they made DOOM II in 8 months. Just take a look at the release dates of both games.

make software modifications for their releases(update patches), worked on Doom2, sold their game engine, started thinking about Quake since computers were changing so fast, shopped for Ferraris. :)
