The only thing that comes to my mind is that the wad that you are trying to open is not in the same format of the one that is selected in the very first window that opens up when you click on a wad to edit it.

So for example, if you try to open an UDMF megawad with the Boom format selected no maps will show up.

"how do i fix this?" That is a very good question.

Since you give us next to no information, the only recourse you have at the moment is to rtfm.

However, if you really want some help, then here are some basic questions:

  • Which editor are you using?
  • Have you configured the editor properly?
  • What mapping format are you using?

1. Doom Builder
2. Yes
3. UDMF format

1. Doom Builder

Doombuilder2, I know there are still some people using it even though it is an ancient editor by today's standards. There have been 1658 updates and fixes since r1715. The latest iteration of this editor is Ultimate Doom Builder

Okay, since you are certain that the editor is set up correctly, then the problem most likely is the PWAD. So the next question then is:

  • Which PWAD are you trying to load?
  • Can you provide a link?

If it is your own project, upload the PWAD for perusal.
