Recommended Posts

So i was just going to play some HL2 when the game crashed for no reason and then a weird crash message popped up. I have never encountered this problem before, so help would be apreciated :)

try verifying the game files and see if that will fix the problem.

also post this in the halflife 2 steam discussions, maybe more people will be able to help you.

alright so i veryfied the game files and then it said:

"1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired"

so then i launched hl2 thinking everything is fixed now but it was worse. Now the message was corrupted and i still dont know what to do :(

If its a Steam game, then cleaning the Steam cache might help. Otherwise, reinstall from Steam.

Got an error like this with cs before, move the game files to a shorter directory with a shorter name (eg: D:/SteamLibrary) and it should fix it.

Right click it > Properties > Local files > Move install folder

I think you just had a real-life encounter with the G-Man. Your computer is clearly broadcasting some kind of coded transmission beyond the Borderworld.
