Really the entirety of A.L.T. mapset, but specifically maps 6 and 10. So surreal.

Eviternity MAP15. Music, atmosphere and aestetics are so great. One of my favorite levels ever.

BTSX E1 MAP01. What can i say? Love at first sight.

The Ultimate Doom E4M1. Nothing to say, just E4M1.

Suspended in Dusk MAP01. Pure atmosphere. Captures the essence of the original Doom flawlessly.

Basically the entire Ancient Aliens wad.

Map02 from journey to hell that old wad from 2010 the midi is so awesome

not meaning to derail, but is there a valid link to this anywhere today? The old 2011 @j4rio fix link seems to be broken.

E1M1 - OPL SYNTH - On  (Need I say more??)

E2M2 - Sounds better on general midi.  Makes the doom series shine and I always come back here anytime I'm playing this game.

E2M8 - Rocket trading shots fest.

E1M8 - First and most iconic introduction to a new monster in episode 1.  "Hummm hum hum hum hummmmmm"

E1M9 - Military base with a nice track that is uplifting.

E1M3 - Oh my.... doom wouldn't be the same without this level.  It really sounds like you are doomed 100%

Sigil Map 8 - Some people may argue it doesn't sound like it belongs in a doom game but it's nice map layout.

My obsession maps are all large, exploratory maps that I feel compelled to successfully one-shot them.   In no particular order:

Hellrun

Castle of Evil

Chimera--Map 23 of Akeldama

Fortdth!

RRWARD02 (actually the whole series)

HR2 MAP29 immediately comes to mind

DTWID E1M4 is also a masterpiece.

Also, strolling through the levels of UDMX is a pretty sight to see, strangely enough. Would be a lot more fun with some players to shoot at though.

Surprised you didn't mention Frozen Time - You often used that one as a benchmark map for GZ, so i imagine you still revisit it rather often as a test subject.

But it's not something I actually play very often. I use it as a benchmark, that is different.

Even though the music is burning in my brain because of all the time i spent trying to find the exit, Suburbs is definetely one of my favorite maps of Doom II.

For Doom I, all the maps are enjoyable, unlike Doom II's, but the best one is Tower of Babel, the music, the duel, it's the best boss battle i've ever played (Along Wheatly's from Portal 2)

I'm not entirely sure if I have maps I do this with...

Nonetheless, I do find myself replaying specifically MAP24 of Doom 2 occasionally. Not constantly, but sometimes.

Seej.wad

Av.wad, maps 10, 24, 25, 27, 28 & 29

Eternal.wad, maps 12, 15, 22, 24 & 28

Requiem.wad, maps 01-03, 08, 13, 15, 27, 28 & 31

"random" maps from BTSX series, but in particular map 15 & 24 from no 2.

doom:

e1m3

e1m5

e1m7

e3m3

e3m4

e3m6

e3m7

many of the choices are either for nostalgic reasons and/or the unique combinated "feeling" of level aesthetics, soundtrack and sky texture. Immersion!

Doom E2M4.

I really don't know why, but it's probably my favorite map in all of Doom. Somehow I find its atmosphere to be the perfect archetype of Doom.

I also like E2M7.

Back to Saturn X E2 map 20 "Speedtraps for the Bee Kingdom" comes to mind for its adventurous feel, environmental storytelling, sheer scale and overall narrative design. Not to mention the music track. You get to visit so many different places in just one map and it's loaded exclusively with mid-tier monsters. Honestly, it's such a standout in the episode.
