What a set of rules - this is more like creating the level is the actual puzzle :) Not sure if I have the time this month but it seems an interesting challenge

I did not remove them no, since former human implies "dude with pistol". I can tweak it accordingly if you want to stick to that ruling, but if you do I'd make it a little clearer in the rule description. :)

I'll change the rules. Former Human does imply pistol man, and I don't want to change the "8 Former Humans."

For now on, you can use as many sergeants and commandos as you wish!

I just poked my head around, and unfortunately, since there aren't a quantity of monsters equalling that required in the rules (5 Arch-viles, 4 Cyberdemons, etc.) I will have to turn down this version of the map. If you've used up all the time, I will grant you some clemency in order to fill up the map with the required monster count. If you need help getting around the 10 sector limit, message me and I can give you a hand.

Your wad seems to be missing important lumps that prevents it from opening in limit-removing compatible source ports. I don't know what caused this, probably your node builder broke (Or you don't have it, but I think they are part of doom builders now). I know very little about that, but I fixed this locally by opening your map in UDB and saving it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the maps that have been submitted so far!

@Dragonfly great, creative fights!

@Danlex I loved the last battle in your map!
@DynamiteKaitorn your map felt very smooth to me on first playthrough! I was expecting to get lost but everything felt natural. 
@Telemassacre's map has me chuckling every time I start the monsters in the 3rd room infighting and I hear the endless loop of reviving and killing :P.

Map Name: The Word for 'Tree' is 'Boom'

Format: Boom (built in GZDB, tested with PrBoom+ 2.5.1.4 and GZDoom g4.4.2)

Difficulty Settings: Yes, implemented

Comments: My map is finished except for a few HOMs, adding the music and fixing the sector count (I only used 10 sectors but a few of them aren't properly joined together yet). The HOMs occur in PrBoom+, on the front left wall of some of the gingerbread houses, but not all the time. I haven't been able to fix it yet. I really did only use 10 sectors: I just have to track down the ones that aren't properly joined together right now and fix it. That is actually a long and tedious process.

Despite these issues I am uploading the map now because it's otherwise finished, gameplay is not affected, and any feedback given over the weekend is genuinely appreciated. This is my first map EVER that I've finished and it's definitely not perfect. This 12 hour project is a real learning experience for me on many levels. I had to get very creative at the end with teleporting enemies without having the luxury of using a wall coming done to trigger them :). There are obvious issues withthe middefs but too bad: I'm out of time.

 

Edit: I just spotted the ending door is broken. Will fix that as well.

This challenge looks fun. Screenshots of everyone's maps look fabulous. I'm tempted to try, but sadly I am not a confident map maker (yet), and I also have no idea how to use Boom format (yet). I should set some time aside to learn it!

From a cavern in the mists of darkness to the snowy plains outside the UAC camp. The dog of darkness has time to map once again. Limit removing means no restraints haha, I’ll see what I can make up in 12 hours, just expect a hard map.

Does limit removing include Boom format? I have an idea for something but it's not possible in vanilla Doom.

 

Edit: nevermind. I was going to build a train but the 10 sector limit is too restrictive. Maybe next time.
