Sergei Ivanov (Writer of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games) has died at 66

Apparently, it was COVID-related complications.

And just to clarify, Ivanov wrote the games whereas Andrei Tarkovsky directed the 1979 movie of the same name based on the Strugatsky brothers’ novel “Roadside Picnic”, where the games took heavy inspiration from.

Being around STALKER since SoC release, that's a big oof. RIP

That sucks. I wonder how this affects Stalker 2.

Not that I knew anything about the Stalker staff despite playing the game, but it hurts to hear and gasping for breath is a nightmare of a way to go. Rest in peace brother
