dyshoria Posted March 17, 2021 I use slade to make my own textures and stuff but now when I add a new texture and try to star editing the map in ultimate doom builder it doesn’t work. Secondly when I add new text using doom writer it instead has a glitchy color to it. Please help 0 Share this post Link to post
Major Arlene Posted March 17, 2021 neither of those things actually have to do with slade. 1. Please specify the format you're working in for the map. 2. saying "it doesn't work" doesn't tell me what actual problem you have with the texture. does it not show up at all in UDB? does it show up but has a red X symbol? 3. is the problem within Doom Writer itself, or adding it in the map? this may have to do with the palette you're using, but again, I know nothing about your wad to know how it's structured. 0 Share this post Link to post
dyshoria Posted March 17, 2021 1. I’m using gzdoom UMDF 2. When I’ve added a new texture it says that the wad has no maps. 3. I don’t what the problem is with it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Major Arlene Posted March 17, 2021 Can you take a screenshot of your wad in SLADE? in other words, show me all the files that are in the wad when you view it in slade. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mr.Rocket Posted March 17, 2021 It almost sounds like the added lumps are before the MAP header making UDB think that there's no map. 1 Share this post Link to post
boris Posted March 17, 2021 UDB doesn't care if there are other lumps before maps. What OP probably did was inserting lumps in between the lumps of a single map. That seems to be on the bucket list of every single new mapper. 0 Share this post Link to post
