Sharing two screens from my favourite levels (currently replaying them).

Want to point out that I'm using:

  • The Eternity Engine: fullscreen 320x200 32 bit graphics, walkcam key bind
  • Reshade: HDR + Tonemap
  • Nvidia Control Panel: disabled antialiasing, Anistrophic filtering, Fast Vsync, High quality textures

Here's the reshade config (also border to prevent letterbox spilling glitches):

It's a map that I use for testing purposes, like new graphics, textures, sprites, hud etc...

I gave it a generic name 'test.wad' :P

 

And yes, this was the first time I've changed hud in Slade, so I had to do it in test map first to see how it works.

I felt like making a skybox today, so I attempted to make some nice animated clouds. The basic principle is this:

 

Make different cloud mask textures(where the part that would normally be all fluffy white is instead transparent, and the part that would normally be transparent is fully opaque with the desired sky color), then put these on two(or more) 3d-floors in a sector where the actual ceiling is all white or some subtle cloud texture, and have the 3d-floors scroll their floors in different directions.

Done with my MAYhem X map (well, almost... I need a sky and the final fight is still to be determined). I've spent some time doing a whole bunch of HUD elements to go with it, too. I even added widescreen support, for ports that support it of course. :)

Just recently started revisiting the Doom shovelware collection called Demon Gate for nostalgia sakes and stumbled across this lol. Oh early 90's maps how I miss thee.

Damn, nice, I'm still trying to figure out how to make these atrocious textures look decent...you seem to have nailed it, though, lol.
