Hey guys, you didn't think I would have a new feature for the site on DW's 5th birthday and leave the forums out of it?! Of course not! Well, just because I'm that kind of guy, here are:

DOOMWORLD FORUM USER BLOGS!!!!

That's right, every user gets one automagically. Here, you can go look at mine at http://www.doomworld.com/~linguica and see how awesome I am.

Currently it looks like shit because I haven't bothered making it look nice etc etc. Anyways, if you want to use it, just send a private message with your update to forum user "blog". That's it. vBcode OUGHT to work but I didn't test it extensively. Plus you can delete the messages from your "sent" folder to delete them. No way to edit PMs as far as I know.

So yeah, I'll probably clean it up and make it look a little nicer and maybe somehow add more options, but there you go.

I don't know. I have no idea what Sinfest is. I'm probably the sleazy guy with a big belly drinking beer all day, doing nothing and bitchslapping my wife. That pretty much sums up my future so that would be accurate.

Hmm, to be a jerkstore about this, DW itself doesn't really allow porn, not just the forums and anyway, this blog is activated using the forums PM system as well, so technically, it's an extension of the forums so the same rules apply ;)

Though, if you want to send ME a PM filled with porn, feel free...*hint hint*

Is there an easier way to get to these blogs than typing in the URLs directly? I realise most users who are going to use this feature will link to it in their sig, but there are those who turn sigs (and avatars and images) off, to make the pages load faster (or in my case, to load at all. Don't ask. Blame ntl...)

I think the ideal solution would be a link somewhere in each post, the appearance of which is conditional on whether the user has posted anything on their blog. Alternatively, even a link on each user's profile page would be sufficient.

Well just a suggestion, I don't know how easy it would be to hack it into VB. Anyway many thanks for reading.

An URL to your blog in your profile would be easy.

Yeah considering the URL is just doomworld.com/~(username) thats not that hard. Of course I don't run the forums so I can't do anything about that?!
