what resolution do you play doom on

Since i discover on what my 4K 50inch TV UHD Display could do and i didnt know that my pc could go up to 4096x2160 (4K resolution display) and i was like why didnt i thought about this sooner and when i switch that on and playing classic doom on 4k man it looks so so good on a 4k tv with a 50inch display and do you know what even better

what if you could play doom in a movie theater

and i want to know what resolution do you play on

1600x900.  i keep the status bar on fit to width, though.  those green square persisting through pain screen drive me nuts.

I play in video mode 1280x960 in full screen desktop mode with render resolution 320x200 with reduced screen size. I miss chunky borders in computer games.

The fact that you can do this in LZDoom is insane

1366x768 (native fullscreen resolution), and hoping to upgrade to 1920x1080 soon. Not that it matters because my main ports are Crispy Doom and Chocolate Doom, neither of which support arbitrary resolution.

I play DSDA-Doom at 1440x1080 resolution in 8-bit color software mode. Gives me that trademark color crushing and banding at a resolution that doesn't make me squint so dang much.doom21.png.cba798c3623f5b0138449b3e298898d6.png

1720x720 W I D E

1/2 of 3440x1440 since that goes under 60 FPS in software mode sometimes, even with 1994 WADs on my Ryzen 9. I use Lossless Scaling to scale it 2x.

I have a 2560 x 1080 widescreen monitor, but I halve the resolution because I like to see chunky pixels

16:9, 1920x1080.

 

I might upgrade to 1440 resolution at some point when I get a 2nd monitor that supports it. Main monitor can do 1440 but not the secondary one.

Yup, 320x200 on a 1366x768 screen. When I'm feeling rich I crank it up to 640x400 but that's only when something other than Chocolate is required

In DOSBox, 320x200

 

In DSDA-Doom and other modern ports, either 1280x720 or 1920x1080.

 

Always with the framerate capped at 35.. movement feels slippery and imprecise with uncapped for some reason.

But usually 800x600, or 640x480 windowed.

320x200 or 640x400 in Dosbox.

 

I lol'd @Wavy's 160x100. :D

I didn't know LZ could go that low, that's crazy.

capped frames are best frames.

1280x960 for any classic source ports, and 1080p for any modern source ports.
