Do you own any old game consoles/games

Recommended Posts

I got a fair few:

Atari 2600

Atari 7200

Atari Lynx

Atari Lynx 2

Game Boy

Game Boy Pocket

Game Boy Colour

Game Boy Advanced

Sega SC-3000 (not really a game console as such)

Game Gear

Master System

Master System 2

Mega Drive 2

Mega CD 2

Sega 32x

Sega Saturn

Dreamcast

NES

Sharp Twin Famicom

Famicom Disk System

Super Nintendo

Super Famicom

Nintendo 64

Gamecube (with Gameboy Player)

Wii

Wii U

Xbox

Xbox 360

Playstation

Playstation 2

Playstation 3

Tempest Pong (SD-050 clone, in the process of repairing it)

Some of the above I have multiple of (eg minor variations like the Master System 2 with Alex Kidd or Sonic built in). Most of them were bought in an 'as-is' state and repaired/fixed. I would like to get a few more, especially consoles that didn't make it to this part of the world but it is hard to justify the prices now.

As for a games collection, I have a few for most of the systems above but they can pretty much have an everdrive/softmod to play any game. The only real game collection that I have is the Doom engine games

Some other collectors in here I see.. I won't bother listing actual games, controllers, arcade sticks and adapters like the Super Gameboy and Game Genies or whatever, because the list would get way out of hand!

Consoles:

2 NES consoles (US)

1 AV Famicom

1 Super Famciom

1 SNES Model 2 (US)

1 Sega Genesis/MegaDrive Model 2 (S-video modded and accepts all region carts)

1 Black N64 (PAL)

1 Purple N64 (US/JP)

1 Xbox 360 (older white version)

1 Wii (US)

1 Wii-U (PAL)

1 Switch w/ Zelda BoTW Artwork (PAL, and also I never play the damn thing, just not really into it anymore)

Portables:

1 Red Gameboy Color (Genuine but old and pretty worn out)

1 Blue Gameboy Color (Cheapish bootleg, backlit, but also has a terrible d-pad)

2 Gameboy Advance SPs, blue and silver

1 Handheld Famicom (BG-828)

1 Handheld NES (FC Mobile II)

1 Handheld Sega Genesis (PAL and unbranded, kinda cheaply made)

1 SupaBoy S (Portable SNES)

1 FC 16 GO (Older and shittier portable SNES)

I think I'm forgetting stuff that's either in boxes under my bed or in the shed, but this is everything I can recall right away. I also have a bunch of old laptops and Win 98/XP era computers sitting around..

I uh... own a few...

My next big purchase will probably be an Analogue Pocket or the Polymega.  I want an Atari Lynx too but I won’t need one if I can get a Pocket and the adapter.

Also, I love learning about the obscure consoles and handhelds everyone has!  I never knew about the Kingsway or the Bowlatronic.  Coleco made a surprising amount of electronics for a leather company!

I have a few xp machines lying around my shop. Tried to turn a couple of them into freedos machines to no avail. Sound never works. Also have a basically functional 98SE ASUS laptop someone left me in good condition that's sadly spoiled by a partial line of dead pixels on the display.

Still own a slim modded PS2 (which it's sorta old at this point) with more than 80 games.

Yes, I do - a PS1, a GameCube and a DS. I very rarely play any of them these days, though.

I own a PS2 Slim, a PSP3000 (pretty worn out but still working), a PSPGo (in good shape), a XBOX360, a 3DS (Half working, top screen gets purple stripes on 3DS mode, but it works well with DS games) And recently got a PS3 Slim.

I have 3 of them laying around.

The Sega Genesis. It was actually my dad's, and was the system both me and my brother first played video games on even before using the PC. I have fond memories of playing Golden Axe 1&2 with my brother in the early mornings when we were little, fighting over those mounting beasts. Good times. Still works like a charm, so I use it every so often, especially after FINALLY getting an A/V cable... it's like night and day. The RF cable was going bad and looked awful lol

Playstation 2 (slim). I bought this myself a number of years ago, used. Never had a PS2 when it was new because we didn't have the money lol, oh well as an adult I was finally able to get me one. I actually bought the fat version first with money I was gonna use to attend a con, but for some reason was unable to go so used it for a console and some games. Sadly the DVD diode was dead, so could only play CD games. Later my brother replaced it with the slim version and it's been working like a charm ever since, plus we can now play the DVD releases.

GameBoy Advance. Once again, something I bought myself years down the line used for 20 bucks because couldn't have one as a kid, since you know, they weren't cheap lol. The screen's quite scratched but games work fine and it's still viewable. I actually managed to find one that still had its battery door, although the clip is broken. I remember it was recommended to tape it shut, but I've actually never had to do that. For a door that's technically broken, it stays shut just fine.

I have sitting around in roughly released order:

- Atari 2600

- (2) NES

- Genesis/Sega CD/32X trifecta

- Gameboy

- SNES

- Saturn

- PS1

- N64

- Dreamcast

- (2) PS2 [One is setup to play PS1/2 imports]

- Gamecube

- Nintendo DS

- PSP

- Wii

- PS3

- PS4

I don't have anything against Microsoft, I've just never been bothered to buy one of their consoles.

I mostly play RPGs/JRPGs so most of my game collection from all those consoles are primarily those sort of titles. Looking at it all guessing the most valuable item I have is Rayearth on the Saturn which I bought new, along with some other RPGs getting up there.

I've got a PS2, a PS3, a PS1 somewhere at my grandparents house, a GBA, a batch of old cheap bootleg-plug and-play consoles and legend says we should have an Atari something in some corner of our old cow byre

I own:

  • NES
    • Bought in 1987 or 1988 with the Zapper -- I don't think I've even tried to turn it on in 10 or 15 years
  • PS3
    • Bought in early 2008 -- it's probably been used as something other than a blu-ray player once in the past 5 or 6 years
  • Gameboy Advance
    • It's actually my wife's -- it was a present to her from a friend sometime in the mid-2000's

And my parents used to have a RadioShack Handheld TV Scoreboard from sometime around 1980. It played pong, tennis, squash, etc. and connected via RF cables to your TV, although I remember you needed a switchbox for it to work. I haven't seen it in around 30 years, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's stuck in a box somewhere at their house.

My original Systems:

Gameboy

Nintendo 64

Wii U

Nintendo 3DS

SD2SNES (fxpack or what its called nowadays)

OSSC

Retrogamingcables

8Bitdo Controllers because they are usable for so many Devices

If you start by zero... just buy a Mister!

Really!

What i can not recommend, a Hydra Scart Switch, it is toooo damn fragile. One Error and it is broken.

Buy a old quality Scart Switch on a Flee Market or Ebay.

Replaced the 100€ Hydra for 10 € used quality Switch (had Luck), damn... what a Money Waste.

My main Collection is for the Super Nintendo.

Love it, i hope i'll have 100 Games some Day :)

(I only buy what i consider to actually play.)
