How much space does your folder occupy where you play doom?

Recommended Posts

3.06 GB, it was a bigger folder before I deleted some useless wads/pk3s.

I use the most horrible sound fonts you can find on the internet, like the one from nokia hahaha
I also have all the versions of doom that lzdoom can run, I have skins, crosshairs, and a mod that I create to add to the monsters of all doom, from 64 to 3 with their expansions, the mod does not weigh much about 10mb, also a wad with midi music that I create, to play it while I play, I have maximum doom, but what happens more in the folder are the sound fonts

How the hell did those soundfont, skin and crosshair files make a mess?
I guess the monsters mod you mentioned seems to weigh something like 1 GB.

23.4 GB (97,876 Files, 1,635 Folders), but there is more on external back-up disks. Hard to say how much, since it is mixed in with stuff for other games and spread among various locations.

It weighs too much for the soundfonts and skins!

31 GB Holy shit! That's a lot of wads.

My file space is at such a premium...I've had to uninstall most things I've installed over the years because there's simply not enough room. I used to have a couple "HD texture packs" for Doom but since I don't care for them anymore anyway, I deleted them from the drive to save on space. Had to do the same for a graphics mod for Star Wars Battlefront II (mod folder for that game is enormous, I think the HarrisonFog remaster was taking up a good 40 GB or so itself, and over time I yearn for vanilla graphics anyway)

The mod weighs 16mb, the skins weigh 42mb are 450 skins, the SF are heavy, very very heavy

I'm pretty sure this laptop have 4-5 gb Doom folder before, but that got deleted because of a very tragic HDD incident, so I had to get a new one. If you wanna know why I named it "spaghetti" that's because inside of the folder are, well "Spaghetti"

5,68 GB (including source ports, pwads, editing tools etc)

I don't hoard any pwads and I usually delete them after I have fun with them. (there is just too much new stuff to have time to replay anything hahaha, and then I need even some time for other games)

Mine is eerily similar in size and file-count to Wavy's.

Unlike many other users here, I have very few Geezy wads/assets, which means that the majority of this data is in the form of conventional wad files (~6 gigs of it, to be precise)...

...

Yes, I do have a problem.

I've got two main folders, one I started out with in 2019 and another I made later, which is more organized. Trying to slowly migrate to the latter for obvious reasons :P

Damn, I don't like being greedy for one specific video game folder, I sometimes delete short wads after playing them, and keep the mods I enjoy.

It seems to be 56.8GB (or exactly 61033182477 bytes :)

This is what is inside.

I might have been saving a lot of random wads in the 'wads' folder, then I am mainly playing in GZDoom where I sometimes unorganized throw WADs inside (till I decide to clean up)

I just realized I had a big 36GB MP4 video of something Doom recordered in wads folder, so they are something like 6GB now and the whole thing is 21.7GB
