There's a decent amount of arch linux in this thread... No surprise that a game community notorious for modding attracts people who also like tinkering with their OS :)

In a ultra small Dell machine. I hauled this one over from work and upgraded from there. I never want a big machine after this - its whisper silent and it throws everything i have with ease.

No, but I have considered running a l4d2 server on the side every once in a while.

This one is pretty new and I finally had the budget to go for something more powerful than I'd usually go for. Last machine was a i5-8400 with a Geforce 1060, for reference.

This strikes me as odd. RAM is typically designed around byte alignments, How exactly do you have 500GB instead of 512GB?

Screenie: Roughly 18.5" by 10.5" , it barely achieves 9x16 but it's onn...by Walmart! More junk hardware............................

I've replaced processor batteries and power supplies and fans, and I think one of those is going bad again, the poor ole box is almost as shot as my mind is.

Even if it was 512, that's still very odd in general. but especially so for an otherwise lower spec machine. 🙃
