thiccyosh Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Doom Badly Translated is a gimmick wad that takes most of Doom's text that can be edited by programms like Whacked4, that got put through Google Translate, gets translated into different languages then back into English, and then got put back into the wad by using a .bex file. Painstakingly by hand, one by one by yours truly. "But Yosh!" I hear you say, "What actually got translated?". Well, my dear Doomworld user. Everything I could translate from the Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 got translated, and even made the effort to translate the Cwilvs and Wilvs from both games, options included (Dos only). Some text remains untranslated like the status bar and title pic, as I'm no artist and with the status bar I had the problem of words being too long for it to fit into it. This gimmick wad is simple, but has some fun lines in it. Instead of showing screenshots, I'll put in some of my favorite translated lines instead (That is if some don't punch me to death with the wad guidelines, I read them already guys). Original: Game saved. Translated: An unforgettable game. Original: You got the BFG9000! Oh, yes. Translated: We have BFG9000! Well, this is correct. Original: E2M4: Deimos Lab Translated: E2M4: Timothy Lab Original: level 21: nirvana Translated: Level 21: Nude Don't like the idea of this gimmick? That's fine too! You can export out the .deh file in this wad by using Slade. That way you should be able to load the wad and the Dehacked for DOSBox.
