insertwackynamehere Posted May 24, 2003 Right now I'm trying to log on to ftp://archives.3dgamers.com but the password screen keeps popping up. I put my user name as anonymous and my password as my email adress, but it keeps deniying my access. I've uploaded before, and sometimes don't have this problem, but more often I do. Can someone help me, please? BTW, I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, so it's in everything else. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted May 24, 2003 You're sure the problem isn't just that too many users are connected? 0 Share this post Link to post
insertwackynamehere Posted May 24, 2003 I'm not sure. The login box pops up, I fill it out, and then click "Login". The box pops back up, and if I try again, the same thing happens, continuously. Sometimes I can login right away, however. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted May 24, 2003 What program are you using? Internet Explorer? 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted May 24, 2003 Internet Explorer is known for its stupid ways to present errors. Try plain ftp.exe instead: go start->run and then cmd (or command if that doesn't work). Then type: ftp open archives.3dgamers.org And see what error it gives. 0 Share this post Link to post
insertwackynamehere Posted May 24, 2003 actually I just realized that if I open it from "My Network" folder, nothing pops up, and it opens easily. But if that stops working, I'll keep your solution in mind. Thanks! 0 Share this post Link to post

The Ultimate DooMer Posted May 24, 2003 If it's showing the 'Either the server does not allow anonymous logins or the email address was not accepted' screen, it's IE's stupid way of saying there's too many users connected. You don't need to fill the box in, simply flick back and forward using the arrows and you'll eventually get through. If you're downloading stuff, go to ftp://3darchives.in-span.net instead (a lot more users allowed). 0 Share this post Link to post
insertwackynamehere Posted May 24, 2003 That would explain why once again it's not working for me. 0 Share this post Link to post
