Kinsie Posted June 12, 2003 A friend keeps having trouble with Wintex, no matter what version. WINTEX50 caused a general protection fault in module LBWINTEX.DLL at 0001:0000564a. Registers: EAX=20270000 CS=49cf EIP=0000564a EFLGS=00000206 EBX=00003606 SS=50df ESP=00006fac EBP=00006fb2 ECX=00000000 DS=3e67 ESI=00005480 FS=0000 EDX=000012cd ES=3e67 EDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: 8b 87 9a 8e 3b 46 fe 76 ef eb 20 8b 5e 06 4b 03 Stack dump: 54800000 6fd2fffe 000a5403 ffff1b03 12cd0000 ffce9ad0 00018180 00004650 ffff000a 70140000 00003e40 ffce0000 44827122 324d4f4f 57202020 6e164441 Any ideas on how to stop the DLL from doing this? 0 Share this post Link to post
Julian Posted June 12, 2003 It could help if you could at least say what you do just before it crashes. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kinsie Posted June 13, 2003 Apparently this happens when he tries to load a wad. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted June 13, 2003 Latest version of Wintex? All DLL files installed? Latest version of the VB runtime libraries? 0 Share this post Link to post
Grimm Posted June 13, 2003 Looks like he'll have to redownload Wintex 4.3 and then download thos "patches" the other guy made, Javier something, I believe. 0 Share this post Link to post
netnomad312 Posted June 13, 2003 Have you tried just reinstalling it? While you're at it you may as well pick up 5.0 (although I have no idea what change it makes except the lump list is slightly shorter...) 0 Share this post Link to post
Cyb Posted June 13, 2003 as far as I can tell the changes to 5.0 are totally worthless, it does not fix any wintex errors, not allow for grapics taller than 256 pixels (or textures taller than 128) or anything however now when you quit, 5.0 asks "are you sure you want to quit?" 0 Share this post Link to post
NightmareZer0 Posted June 13, 2003 i get the same error! i've did everything i can think of. Installing different versions. Installing it in different places. Trying different wads. All methods fail it. 0 Share this post Link to post
