A friend keeps having trouble with Wintex, no matter what version.

WINTEX50 caused a general protection fault
in module LBWINTEX.DLL at 0001:0000564a.

Any ideas on how to stop the DLL from doing this?

Latest version of Wintex?
All DLL files installed?
Latest version of the VB runtime libraries?

Looks like he'll have to redownload Wintex 4.3 and then download thos "patches" the other guy made, Javier something, I believe.

Have you tried just reinstalling it? While you're at it you may as well pick up 5.0 (although I have no idea what change it makes except the lump list is slightly shorter...)

as far as I can tell the changes to 5.0 are totally worthless, it does not fix any wintex errors, not allow for grapics taller than 256 pixels (or textures taller than 128) or anything

however now when you quit, 5.0 asks "are you sure you want to quit?"
