Hopefully it's just fanart. It's pretty good, but it wouldn't fit in Doom 3.

Looks like 2 chain guns, it looks like it has a signature so it's probably fan art.

It's quite an old fan art. IIRC, it has been made just after the announcement of a new Doom. Now, people, correct me if I'm wrong or add some infos.

EDIT: maybe even before the announcement... damn memory :/

That was only a concept art made by an artist that might have left id already, that I'm not entirely sure of. However it won't be used as a Doom 3 reference afaik. It was posted on DW too about 3 years ago, Jul.

Ah, I have that pic on my harddrive since quite a time. Looks nice and fits Doom very well IMO.
As far as I recall it wasn´t drawn by an id Software member, but by someone from another company, so yes, it´s basicly fan art.

The version I have also has subtitle and description, I´m not sure if it originally belongs to the concept art but I post it anyway:

if my memmory is correct,that pic was draw by one of epic (or digital extreme?) artist.

My friend, that thing looks like something out of Earthworm Jim 16... I don't consider that Doomish.

It´s more doomish then some of the cartoonish original Doom artwork.

I wouldn't say that... I would say it's better-looking, but the graphics capabilities of the time were so much lower^
