Dual Chainguns?

I'm sure we've all seen this image in probably eight or nine DooM projects. My question is, where did it originally come from? Are these sprites from a game I've never played? Did somebody make this in the early days of DooM... like 95' and it just got used in every TC ever?

Anyone know?

It looks a bit like the Quake 2 chaingun with a mirror image.

They first came from an abandoned project called Twice Risen.

Skulltag minigun = dual chainguns!

No. I've seen them before that. They were also in that old Doom 2 Extreme Gold, which I played a long time ago. I've also seen then in other wads, which escape me for the time being.

They look like they were at least based on polygon weapons to me.

They are in Gun X : Urban Nightmare as well. Those dual chainguns have been all over, they're like graphic whores :-P

That's the first time I saw it, Doom2 Extreme Gold.

They've been in Realms of the Spider Gods too, one of my (and Lüt's) favourites.

I think I've seen them already in some old FPP Descent-type game. Can't remind where and when, but the game was almost as old as Doom 2 I think (something about '94-'95)

Now we're getting somewhere. Might want to persue this lead.

Justin Fisher made it for the 3D games alchemy CD.

I know because I have the CD... Somewhere. :P

i can confirm this is true, because that's where i ripped it from yearsss ago, when i thought replacing weapons was cool. =/
