Question for those with knowledge of Source Ports.

I've been DooMing for YEARS, since it's release. I've just decided to start using some SP's, and I wanted to know what the favorite is in the DooM world. I have Legacy, and ZDoom, I like the features, and I'm looking for stuff with crazy new features and enhanced graphics.

I REALLY like Immoral Conduct (http://www.doomworld.com/immoralconduct). It uses the EDGE engine and adds a ton of new weapons into the game. No new maps, but you can use any standard doom/doom2 single player set to it. Monsters a made a little harder, and there are other nice features. It is a good time and worth checking out at least.

I was going to recommend ZDoom for the enhanced stuff, but you already have that. :)
Now, for the fancy graphics, check out JDoom.
EDIT: Oops, too quick on the draw. :)

For good graphics and special effects + great sp feeling
Doomsday is your choice


For good editing and fast engine and fun net gaming and orig feeling
Zdoom is your choice


For good netcode
Zdaemon is your choice

Skulltug uses ZDaemon's netcode, and is also based the latest version of ZDoom (v2.0.47), so you get the best netcode, the fastest port, and the best editing features, plus a whole load of extra Skulltag only goodness (e.g. new levels, weapons, skins and monsters).

IIRC ZDaemon is still based on a ZDoom v1.23 beta, and beyond the netcode and experience point system, doesn't really add that much to the original ZDoom code.

Good to hear, heard its nice, But does it have any gl option?

never liked zdaemon, probably never will. way too buggy for my taste. Its like a "cs doom 2.0", tho I think cs doom feels funnier at some strange way.

ZDaemonGL is based on 2.0.47.
