Melfice Posted September 9, 2003 I'm not even gonna bother looking. There's no way I'll ever have the money to get the right stuff to play Doom 3 as good as I'd want. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scabbed Angel Posted September 9, 2003 Heh, no. You should. As stupid as it is, I kind of want one. Shuffles feet guitily. 0 Share this post Link to post
Python_Junkie Posted September 9, 2003 What's next? A CD-ROM drive that really DOES double as a cupholder? 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted September 9, 2003 You mean it's not a cupholder? No wonder my games were acting strange. 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted September 9, 2003 OMG, you mean I can have the convience of a lighter RIGHT AT MY OWN COMPUTER!? Oh wait...*reaches in pocket* 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted September 9, 2003 oh yea, lets smoke around our PC. dont you know cigerret smoke eats at electronics? also the ash clogs up fans worse than cat hair and dust. "sir i dont recall and computer system with a cup holder." "well it has a 4x on the front if that helps you out." "sir, that was not a cupholder. thats is a cd drive (underbreath)...dumbass" 0 Share this post Link to post
Remilia Scarlet Posted September 9, 2003 I want to use car accessories with that since I don't smoke. And next, I'd like to see a wiper-blade mounted to a monitor. 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted September 9, 2003 on another note my doom3 system will be an athlone64 based system. many have asked why bother getting the 64bit CPU, "windows is not 64 bit." they say. well there is a 64-bit windows but its out of my price range. besides linux runs in 64 bit and will get the job done i wonder if doom3 will use any of the 64-bit enhancments 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted September 9, 2003 If this keeps up, we may have monitors equipped with airbags in case the computers crash. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted September 9, 2003 Sephiroth said:i wonder if doom3 will use any of the 64-bit enhancments John Carmack has stated that there won't be a 64-bit build of Doom 3. Though that was a long time ago, he might've changed his mind now. In any case, Doom 3 will benefit from the extra memory throughput just like every other application, regardless of whether it's run in 64-bit mode or not. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bloodshedder Posted September 9, 2003 there is a 64-bit windows but its out of my price range.Uh... I'm sorry, but there is no version of Windows commercially available for the x86-64 platform. Why release an OS for a platform that doesn't even have a chip available for it yet? 0 Share this post Link to post

The Ultimate DooMer Posted September 10, 2003 We could also have Windows that let the outside air in to cool us down. (and to remind us what the outside feels like) And an Internet road map stuffed in a side pocket. Ichor said:If this keeps up, we may have monitors equipped with airbags in case the computers crash. I certainly will...all those 3D accelerated games are a real hazard. 0 Share this post Link to post

Aliotroph? Posted September 10, 2003 Smoking is disgusting. I'll stick to drinking. I wonder why 64-bit stuff is taking so long to catch on. There were 32 bit computers available 15 years ago. Time for a change. And there are 64-bit PowerMacs now. We just can't let those be better than our beloved PCs. 0 Share this post Link to post
