Also Memento Mori 2 will always stand for me as the epitome of a no-nonsense straight edge megawad.

Why not instead of having it choose "The BEst wad", instead it chronicalize the influencial wads that became classics over the ten years. And have a little comparison of the first wads that came out in 1994 and the kinds of wads now being produced - showing how far Doom has come.

Dunno if this was posted (sorry, don't feel like reading through it all), but make sure Alberto Barsella's MNT_FIRE makes it in there. (I believe it's under a different name in the archives, tohugh.) Oh, and DARKHELL as well.

I'm not certain if this has been mentioned yet, but Chris Hansen's Flay the Obscene series definitely deserves a mention (and a review in the /newstuff of Ten Years :P)

/newstuff has been around for 10 years? Wow, I had no idea. I figured it was more of a 7 year thing.

10 years of DooM, not newstuff.

So it's more "The /newstuff of Ten Years of Doom."

thepath.wad needs an honorable mention.

The main requirements are is that its packed with top quality wads and some we havent played yet, that we can play over xmas. Cool.

Immoral Conduct should be mentioned. It's like, the definitive weapons mod.

The /newstuff folder has been around almost as long as Doom itself. The oldest mentions I am aware of are from 1994, when it was at the infant ftp site.

Presumably everything currently in the archive was at some point in /newstuff.

Having said that, the feature will most likely include a few wads that aren't in the archive.

No. Don's challenge. Swiggin Jack Daniels and smoking cigarettes is far more original than another form of projectile launcher.

I know the creator of those levels personally. Harq (or Deth, in the days of the BBS) was the creator, and a personal friend of my father. My dad (Nickledime -- and yes, that's the right spelling) was his personal playtester.
All I could do was watch when they were hogging up the computers.
I don't have a great list of personal favorites, but I didn't like Aliens TC for some reason. Memento Mori II and Eternal Doom (release 3) have to be my favorites.
