Fredrik Posted November 18, 2003 Hmm. Don't forget Dystopia 3, the best add-on episode for Doom 2 ever made. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scuba Steve Posted November 19, 2003 Must. Nominate. Phobos. by. Roger. Ritenour. /end RoboScuba Probably some of the best E1 feeling ever, in an actual cohesive levelset. 0 Share this post Link to post
Little Faith Posted November 19, 2003 Has Equinox been mentioned yet??? Also Memento Mori 2 will always stand for me as the epitome of a no-nonsense straight edge megawad. I would like to mention something by LilWhiteMouse as the best port-specific works, but she never releases anything. 0 Share this post Link to post

Hirogen2 Posted November 20, 2003 Just what Janizdrag said. May doom.wad also. 0 Share this post Link to post
Hellbent Posted November 21, 2003 Why not instead of having it choose "The BEst wad", instead it chronicalize the influencial wads that became classics over the ten years. And have a little comparison of the first wads that came out in 1994 and the kinds of wads now being produced - showing how far Doom has come. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grimm Posted November 21, 2003 Dunno if this was posted (sorry, don't feel like reading through it all), but make sure Alberto Barsella's MNT_FIRE makes it in there. (I believe it's under a different name in the archives, tohugh.) Oh, and DARKHELL as well. 1 Share this post Link to post
sgtcrispy Posted November 28, 2003 Great suggestions guys (Janizdreg: Thanks for suggesting cbs_se_11) ;) I'd suggest Voidship. It's for both 1 and 2 so it'll work. I have it somewhere if you cant find it. damn d!zone cds. hehe EDIT: Grimm! DARKHELL as in the e2 replacement with the funky lights and huges maps? Awesome. One of my old favs. Since I'm talking favs... /me thinks hard... 10Sectors Doomworld Speedmaps DARKHELL Voidship D1 and D2 versions Memento Mori 1 & 2 Alien Vendetta Brotherhood of Ruin. Trinity of Evil (Heretic version also) Uac_Dead Obticuary Raven Series Satan666 H2HMud Series (Hard COOP maps) Serenity 1 & 2 (Eternity) Doom1 E2 and E3 replacements The other Eternity Securitron The Darkening 1 & 2 Batman Doom Inferno Series (Crossing Acheron Dantes Gate etc) Ledges Series (We need these on ZDaemon people!) But hey lets not forget old Doom programs we used back in the day like DMAUD, DMMUS, DMGRAPH, Dehacked, old WINTEX and the like. 0 Share this post Link to post
Grimm Posted November 28, 2003 Make sure you throw in honorable mention or something like that, too. I need a directory of good WADs too, not just the best. ;) Yep, that DARKHELL. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted December 1, 2003 I'm not certain if this has been mentioned yet, but Chris Hansen's Flay the Obscene series definitely deserves a mention (and a review in the /newstuff of Ten Years :P) 0 Share this post Link to post
Epyo Posted December 1, 2003 /newstuff has been around for 10 years? Wow, I had no idea. I figured it was more of a 7 year thing. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted December 1, 2003 10 years of DooM, not newstuff. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ultraviolet Posted December 1, 2003 So it's more "The /newstuff of Ten Years of Doom." 0 Share this post Link to post
Fletcher` Posted December 1, 2003 thepath.wad needs an honorable mention. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Heretic Posted December 2, 2003 The main requirements are is that its packed with top quality wads and some we havent played yet, that we can play over xmas. Cool. 0 Share this post Link to post
Dunbar Posted December 2, 2003 Immoral Conduct should be mentioned. It's like, the definitive weapons mod. And stuff. 0 Share this post Link to post

Grazza Posted December 2, 2003 Epyo said:/newstuff has been around for 10 years? Wow, I had no idea. I figured it was more of a 7 year thing. The /newstuff folder has been around almost as long as Doom itself. The oldest mentions I am aware of are from 1994, when it was at the infant ftp site. Presumably everything currently in the archive was at some point in /newstuff. Having said that, the feature will most likely include a few wads that aren't in the archive. 0 Share this post Link to post

Fletcher` Posted December 4, 2003 ZanZan - best fully total TC. Best use of Zdoomgl. Most origional weapons. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scuba Steve Posted December 4, 2003 ravage said:ZanZan - best fully total TC. Most origional weapons. No. Don's challenge. Swiggin Jack Daniels and smoking cigarettes is far more original than another form of projectile launcher. 0 Share this post Link to post
Project Shadowcat Posted December 5, 2003 I enjoyed the following single player wads for Doom 2: ... foa*.wad series (For Boom compatible ports, I think maybe I didn't play all of these, but I recall the ones I did play were pretty good) --Draconia I know the creator of those levels personally. Harq (or Deth, in the days of the BBS) was the creator, and a personal friend of my father. My dad (Nickledime -- and yes, that's the right spelling) was his personal playtester. All I could do was watch when they were hogging up the computers. I don't have a great list of personal favorites, but I didn't like Aliens TC for some reason. Memento Mori II and Eternal Doom (release 3) have to be my favorites. 0 Share this post Link to post
