Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 Is there any other source ports where you can look ALL THE WAY up and down besides Jdoom? 0 Share this post Link to post
Rellik Posted December 14, 2003 http://legacy.newdoom.com Coming soon: Legacy Rocket Arena. :) 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted December 14, 2003 As I recall you could look straight up and down with ZDoomGL. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 you can't look straight up and down with Doom Legacy. Also, how come with legacy, Doom2 skies are full, with like, tops and stuff, but for the rest of the games, the skies are just stretched? 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted December 14, 2003 The doom3.wad has extended versions of the DooM 2 skys in it, whereas it doesn't have those in for DooM 1/Heretic/Hexen. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 Is there anymore ports with up and down look in them. Straight up and down? 0 Share this post Link to post
Rellik Posted December 14, 2003 Bashe are you playing in OpenGl? If you play in opengl you can look straight up and down. In software that isn't possible with any port. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 No I don't have openGL. That's why I can't play Jdoom, and I'm missing out on the Doom64 TC!!! 0 Share this post Link to post
Rellik Posted December 14, 2003 Ah, that explains it. Yeah you need hardware excelleration in order to get 180 degree mouselook. Sorry. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 Where can I get acceleration for my OpenGL? Can I download it somewhere, or does it have to be bought? 0 Share this post Link to post

If your graphics card can't do it you'll need to buy a new one. Almost every graphics card sold in the last 2 years (or even more) has OpenGLÖ support. What kind of graphics card do you have? 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 You see, I have a laptop that I play Doom on. So mine must not be that good. BTW, in ZDoom, it goes pretty slow with only 640x400! I can't use my uber cool PC because: 1. it isn't really mine 2. my dad won't allow me to put it on. Sorry. 0 Share this post Link to post

If it can't even run ZDoom decently in 640x400 it simply doesn't have enough resources for it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted December 14, 2003 I kinda have kinda good news, though. We have a spare PC lying around and my dad is vaguely thinking about letting me have it. He'll give me the old GForce 3 card if he does. That would be cool, but it may not happen. 0 Share this post Link to post
Slide Posted December 17, 2003 Also, how come with legacy, Doom2 skies are full, with like, tops and stuff, but for the rest of the games, the skies are just stretched? Can I say jDoom Environment Pack? You can have all the Sky tops, bottoms and besides with this pack that has high quality skyboxes for jDoom (even if I do say so myself :) ). 0 Share this post Link to post

Bashe Posted December 18, 2003 I can use Vavoom, but it goes 0.00000000000000000001 miles an hour at 320x200!!! Holy crap! 0 Share this post Link to post
Graf Zahl Posted December 19, 2003 Retox said:Wrong! It's possible with Vavoom. That's because Vavoom uses a polygon based engine even in software mode. In other words: It has nothing to do anymore what is generally considered 'software rendering' in Doom terms. 0 Share this post Link to post
