The Ultimate DooMer Posted December 30, 2003 Is it possible to apply a sort of sheen (preferably coloured) to a sky so it looks like it's foggy? 0 Share this post Link to post
MaxWindiff Posted December 30, 2003 If you simply want the sky to look a little bit foggy, you can cover it with a translucent white (or colored) layer. However I think the effect will not be very obvious. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cyb Posted December 30, 2003 you can create a new layer and make it all one color and then set the transparency to 50 or 75% (or whatever suits you) and then merge the layers 0 Share this post Link to post
Skunkboy Kyle Posted December 30, 2003 I'd give it kinda of a cloudly look to the color, too, kind of a fade in fade out kind of thing around a bit so it looks like real fog. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted December 30, 2003 The only problem is of course that bitmaps don't support layers (do they?) I've currently done it by colourising and then adding brightness to it (the method I used for LTSD's foggy sky), but I'm sure it can be done better than that. edit: I didn't read Cyb's post properly... 0 Share this post Link to post
Cyb Posted December 30, 2003 yeah you need to up the color count to 16million first, then you should be able to add a new layer and then after you're done merge the layers and convert back to the doom pal. 0 Share this post Link to post
Scuba Steve Posted December 30, 2003 I would change the texture of fill to clouds and fill the layer with that if you want clouds. 0 Share this post Link to post
The Ultimate DooMer Posted December 31, 2003 I've got it working fine, thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
