NiGHTMARE Posted January 16, 2004 In Windows 2000 there's an Automatic update tool in Control Panel with various options available, including the one you want: "Keep my computer up to date". Presumably (but then you never know with Microsoft) it's there in '98 too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted January 16, 2004 Um...the automatic updating thing isn't in Windows 98. And it was only available in Windows 2000 from service pack 3 and above. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted January 16, 2004 Not exactly; IIRC it won't download an update itself, but it will come up with a message whenever a new update is available, which is presumably what he's talking about. 0 Share this post Link to post
fodders Posted January 16, 2004 Hardly worth bothering with as Microsoft have discontinued support for Win98 anyway. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bloodshedder Posted January 17, 2004 Actually, no, they most definitely have not done so. 0 Share this post Link to post
Little Faith Posted January 17, 2004 The only thing I think they have done is to discontinue making updates for Win98. 0 Share this post Link to post
