Damn, that's a lotta files . . .

So I was looking under the properties section of My Documents when I paid attention to how many files were in there, for once. 8,112. Damn. 6,129 of the files are pictures somehow used or related to Doom. Damn. So, anyone care to share theirs? :)

On a side note, I'm using XP Home, and for some reason now under My Computer, everyone's documents except the Owner's is showing up there. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have 6,457 files in My Documents (actually a file on an external hd named "muh docs") with about 1,300 of them being pictures and 3,971 of them being pr0n (1,473 of those are specifically hentai).

For music I have 4,925 files, which 2,554 are mp3s of backed up discs or my own music(18.8 gb).

i avoid putting things in "my documents" (or documents how i set it to). so i dunno. but my games folder has 135,000 files and i have 3,660 mp3s.

I hate 'My Documents' and how you can't delete the folders in there you don't need, like 'My Music' and 'My Pictures' etc. Argh, I'm perfectly fine with C:\Music, C:\Movies, and C:\Stuff.

yeah, i use d:\isos\, x:\music\, y:\games\, and z:\video\ .. it's almost like microsoft only WANTS you to use a single partition.

I do have a Stuff folder though. It's where I keep my wallpapers and wav files (which I dont use anymore so I should probably delete them).

I don't use "My Documents". Just 21 files in there in total.

C:\WINWORD contains 17,852 files and 1,000 folders (2,210,261,597 bytes).

C:\DOOM2 contains 38,100 files and 484 folders (5,897,481,134 bytes).

I actually make very extensive use of My Documents. But it's all pretty well organized. Most of it is source files for different things. Usually arranged by project.

I'm not going to even bother with the file count, My Documents folder is 30.4gb right now and I still have stuff spread all over the hd I need to put into it.

Oh wait, it gave me the file count, amazing. 22,113 files.

MEh. I don't have that many files under 'my documents'. All in all I'd guess I have about 1Gb of files there.

Me no use My Documents, but:

D:\Simon - 25,796 files in 1,188 folders (3.78gb)
E:\Mp3s - 2,697 files in 466 folders (14.4gb)
D:\Doom - 6,396 files in 239 folders (1.68gb)
my pr0n folder - 2,611 files in 13 folders (535mb)

i don't use my documents either but...

c:\recv (my dump place for received files) is 20.3 gigs in 11960 files in 794 folders

d:\ (where the files from c:\recv often go when c: is full (also unsorted)) is 36.8 gig in 5168 files and 503 folders

those doesn't bother me much, but this one is kind of annoying.

c:\Documents and settings\Anders\Desktop (unsorted) is 3.62 gigs in 4360 files and 217 folders.

what happens is when the desktop gets full so i can't fit more stuff on it, i make a folder and move loads of stuff into it. the next time it happens i make a new folder, and so on :)

my c:\spel (games) folder is 2.97 gigs in 7455 files and 527 folders. And c:\doom (unsorted) is 968 megs in 1415 files and 69 folders.


EDIT: some searching in the first three folders mentioned above came up with the following pr0n: 9,96 gigs in 3091 files and 68 folders.

I use c:\zipped for downloads. I do have a My Documents, but there's only about three or four old .bmps in it. As for c:\zipped, I try to keep the actual directory nice and clean so I can tell what I just put there. However, I have quite a few subdirectories labeled, a, b, c, d, e, f, g, and h. Most of those are filled with sprites and textures I've made or modified.

F:\Everything\ (porn dir) is 864 MB (906,248,192 bytes), 3,393 files and 92 folders

Broken down into subdirectories:

• F:\Everything\Dojins, mangas, etc\ is 185 MB (194,904,064 bytes), 2,187 files and 54 folders
  
• F:\Everything\Movies\ is 565 MB (593,317,888 bytes), 272 files and 17 folders
  
• F:\Everything\Photosets\ is 111 MB (116,498,432 bytes), 932 files and 18 folders
  

F:\mp3\ is 2.25 GB (2,418,475,008 bytes), 781 files, 103 folders.

I've never used my documents since I get the impression it's a prime target for viruses, although I've never been hit by one anyway.

I used to hate My Documents myself, but it's real easy to get to from a file dialouge window thingie . .

dont have a "my documents" directory, but my home is pretty full fo stuff, but no where like any of you guys

i only have 7% of my linux drive used, my windows on the other hand (i gave it an old 15GB drive) is at 70% used. mostly games that i no longer play, i should really wipe off that drive

I only use "My Documents" for personal text and project files, although the "My Pictures" directory within it is used for general pictures as well. Everything else gets its own folders and subdirectories on one of my three drives (well, two drives, one with two partitions).

I have over 20,000 mp3s. :)

You don't want to know how large my porn directory is. :D

Guess I never caught on to that MP3 craze. Or maybe I'm lucky that most of my favorite music can be found in the discount bin.

And as for porn, well... hentai does it well enough for me.
