We suspected that there was frozen water (ice) at one of the poles.

Dude, its going to be millions of years befor we find a use for mars. And we already should know its still a growing planet, and elements are forming, shit soon there will be bacteria and small one cell life forms... If we live that long (not). :)

Growing planet? Buddy, I've always had the feeling that it was a DEAD planet in the sense that it once had flourishing life long ago and then just...dead.
