ok so i read the doom on xp thread but still need help.

i have installed doom 1 ok and the mouse and everything works fine. but doom 2 wont work even though doom1 works fine in DOS why is this?

You need to be more specific on how Doom 2 "won't work."
What error does the prompt give?

Edit: Why not use a source port instead?

it just doesnt work it goes through all the boot c:// run dos etc but then the screen flashes black like its about to run and just goes back to the desktop with doom2 not running or nething

You are obviously lying about having read the Doom in XP thread.

Look up the Source Ports on the front page.

tryed disabling the sound etc but if doom 1 works do i really need zdoom etc and should i use it wit both?

The thread specifically said that any additional threads concerning issues about doom(2).exe not working with Win2000 or XP will be closed and/or deleted. Again, try one of the given source ports on the thread.
