So, a small blip in OPM stated that the Doom movie will be rated PG-13. This is probably old news for most people. Anyway: fabricated information or not, this totally sucks. So, suggest a new rating for the movie:

PG-13: Either you have a dim hope that this will help the movie's success, or you're in the minority of Doom fans under 17 and you don't know how to get into an R-rated movie. In either case, you're an embarrasment to your generation.

R: Probably the best we can hope for. Much blood, swearing, and possibly some full-frontal.

NC-17: More of an ideal than a likelihood. This means disturbing imagery that surpasses day-to-day movie carnage and gore, as well as true-to-form Hell scenery.

XXX: For that crucial impse scene.

NR: Not Rated, usually reserved for straight-to-video. AARGH!!!

I voted R becuase I would like to see. And I think that an R movie should have the necicary blood and Gore. And to WHo ever said that it should have a naked scene... that doesn't Work for doom!

NC-17 because we're in Hell here ladies, and R just won't cut it.
No Movie? I thought Resident evil did OK for a low budget.

If you rate how good a movie is by their rating, you're a moron.

I've seen some great PG-13 movies. Even action movies.

I mean, really, there isn't much you can do with a few extra curse words and closeups on intestines being ripped out that you can't do with "damn" and bullet wounds in the head.

However, there are certain movies that are plotless and stupid and their only source of entertainment is heads being lopped off. (Evil Dead 2 is a lot of fun for this reason)

Obviously Doom the game has almost no story to speak of, but since we don't know what direction they would take the movie, it might turn out to be good with a PG-13 rating.
Since we're ignorant in that field, talking about what rating we want the movie to be is pointless.

In all seriousness, the best possible option is "no movie."

Agreed.

Resident Evil, House of the Dead, Tomb Raider. . . need I list more reasons why this is a thing that should not be?

Oh come on! Resident evil had a tight budget!

The zombies! What's with zombies running?! That whole resident evil, 28 days later, house of the dead running zombie trend needs to end! Oh, and the acting sucked.

Hey! 28 Days later kicked ass!
(However, I didn't need to see house of the dead to be able to tell it was a stinkfest)

And, yes, video game-to-movie conversions are 95% death. But I can still hope.
By the way, you missed Double Dragon.

For a game that's generated so much controversy, I find it weird they'd open up the movie to 13 year olds.

So... R
