Uncovered Haiti news

Recommended Posts

One story which will not be further covered by CNN (Corporate Nation News) is the derailing of Haiti's Democratic government. Furthermore, they will not release any news, such as this, which will put the president or the US in a worse light than it already is.

Even I can't believe that the corporate crew stifled Democracy in another country just because the president wanted to make the minimum wage $2.00/day. When does it reach the point where it appears necessary to accrue copious amounts of money at the expense of other individuals? These people have far more than enough money to live very comfortably on.

Got any other sources? I stopped reading at "like Team Bush itself". Perhaps a good summary could be in order.

That sounds just like the sort of thing Bush would do - and after all, there had to be something in it for him to depose the leader. And he got to do it in a sly way, too (by not invading directly). The sooner he's out the better. (Bush, that is)

I think Europe should start trading oil in euros or something similar - just to see Bush's reaction...

For Grimm:

When the terrorist warlords attacked last month, Bush flatly refused Aristide's plea for an international force to preserve Haiti's democracy. Instead, he sent armed men to "persuade" Aristide to resign. Within hours, the Bush-backed terrorists were marching through Port-au-Prince, executing Aristide's supporters, The New York Times reports.

Guess they won't be asking for two dollars a day now, eh? Mission accomplished!

Thus, just like his father, Bush has overthrown Aristide, and for the same reason: He represented a threat to their "natural order" -- unchecked rule by pampered, protected elites. Terrorism, despotism, torture, WMD trafficking: All of this can be countenanced, even embraced. But Aristide's alternative -- democratic, capitalist, but with "a prejudice for the poor," as enjoined by the Gospels -- this evil can never be tolerated.

In short, the Bush administration has a knack for funding uprisings, especially when they can manipulate the usurpers and suck the country dry of its natural resources.

Check the bottom. There are a good number of sources the article was based on.

The US government has been supporting revolutions in democratic Latin American countries for over 50 years, often letting violent dictators take control. This isn't anything new. On the other hand, Aristide was a jackass himself.

We should just let the rebels take them (Aristide and company) out. If the majority of Haitians want Aristide out, they should remove him without us intervening like the world policemen.

What you fail to understand is that because of anti-Aristide cells (read: essentially terrorists...irony...) installed by Bush, the people have been swayed to dislike him for no fault of his own.

Poorer citizens of Latin America often turn to marijuana and cocaine cultivation to pay for the exorbitant taxation and cost of living in their home countries. These people are not mercenaries or terrorists-- they simply strive to give their children food, shelter, a good education, and every other necessity they are entitled to.

Of course, their main source of income are all classes of American people. The American government does its best to eradicate cocaine fields, but never seems to get around to them all. Why? To keep supply lower than demand, one would think. The Drug Czar sends out special forces for these operations, and also enlists the help of native rebel factions.

Of course, a country with a stable government would never allow this to take place, so... *reads article again* ...yeah, that sounds about right.
