bthom Posted March 21, 2004 Is SB16 emulation required to get the game music to work in the Windows 95 versions of Doom? ie: Ultimate Doom, Doom2, and Final Doom 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted March 21, 2004 No. The DOS version requires Sound Blaster 16 compatibility for music, but not the Windows version. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted March 21, 2004 Doom '95 uses DirectX for its sound & music, so as long as you've got sound in other Windows-based games, you should have sound in it too. ...though why the heck you'd want to use that POS Doom '95 instead of something like ZDoom or Eternity is anyone's guess :P 0 Share this post Link to post
Lutrov71 Posted March 22, 2004 Hey, he's anewbie. You probably played Doom95 first when you were a newbie. 0 Share this post Link to post
VinceDSS Posted March 22, 2004 Doom95 is alright, it keeps the Doom atmosphere/feelings and adds high res and a nice GUI. Still it is outmatched by PrBoom, PrBoom would need a good frontend tho (maybe I missed it). 0 Share this post Link to post
