ShaneAmp Posted March 23, 2004 i was wondering if its possible to add more screens for an intro, possibly even animated, maybe like the one in psx doom??? 0 Share this post Link to post
DaniJ Posted March 23, 2004 That's possible in jDoom (Doomsday). You can have a fully animated intro either at start up, in-game, or at the start/end of any map. No video though but I doubt anyone would want that anyway. 0 Share this post Link to post
ShaneAmp Posted March 23, 2004 How exactly is that done? Do u just use animated lumps, like sprites or testures? And is it not possible for zdoom? 0 Share this post Link to post
DaniJ Posted March 24, 2004 Here ya go: http://www.doomsdayhq.com/doc_infine.php Basically it works on an object oriented scripting system. You define your objects (in a ded file) and then you control them using the various commands. You can move/scale/rotate/animate images with alpha blending. There's loads of cool features like an interactive mode and an overlay mode so they can be run without stoping gameplay. THE coolest feature has got to be that you can play demos midway through a level, so you can record a demo then use it as a cutscene. It's a Doomsday only feature. 0 Share this post Link to post

You can do intros for ZDoom, but only after you start the game. (put in a ton of scripting at the start of the first map) 0 Share this post Link to post
