Sephiroth Posted October 14, 2001 that is a neat program but it has some bad points, seems to only use one server as of now and that server appears to be down or swamped. has anyone else tried to use it, i do use doomlegacy and zdoom, both are great ports 0 Share this post Link to post
Gherkin Posted October 15, 2001 The entire project is free, just as Doom Legacy itsself, and it was hard already to get just 1 dedicated box to run a server on. The reason it is down a lot is because its damn new stuff, and the problems we encounter couldnt be found during betatesting (because this is massive usage, betatesting is way different). We're sure to get it stable one of these days, after all, these are just 'growing problems' you have to live with. And hey... we want to play too on there! 0 Share this post Link to post
Gherkin Posted October 15, 2001 We've had some problems with the connections (users got disconnected due to false pingtimeouts) but we expect it to be updated and back up running tomorrow (Tuesday, October 16). 0 Share this post Link to post
Sephiroth Posted October 15, 2001 it is good to see that u guys are working on it, rather than relaseing it and going months doing nothing. If it turns out to be good i may open a server for it, currently i am seting up to run a doom related server 0 Share this post Link to post
Gherkin Posted October 15, 2001 If it turns out to be good i may open a server for it You cannot connect to different servers on the DLC. And its not needed. The bandwidth is kept to a minumum and the server does not host the games (moderators of rooms do that when they launch the game). But you can always host a dedicated game. Legacy doesnt support real dedicated serving of a game, but you can just launch it, die and stay dead ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
Naked Snake Posted October 16, 2001 I tried to use it. It gave me some goofy error. 0 Share this post Link to post
