AndrewB Posted June 29, 2004 Tonight is voting night. However, I mailed my vote last Tuesday. I've pretty much been expecting that this country is going to go through its next phase of nightmarish conservatism, and then be scared straight for a couple of decades. However, I can't speak of any elections without saying that we need a transferrable voting system, where people vote for their #1, #2, #3 preferred candidates. This vote-splitting needs to end. 0 Share this post Link to post

Darkstalker Posted June 29, 2004 I just came back from voting. I think the Conservative will win since the Liberals have decreased in popularity and I don't people outside my province will vote for the Bloc Québéquois. Oh well... I just hope he doesn't fuck the country. 0 Share this post Link to post

Chopkinsca Posted June 29, 2004 I didn't vote. I'm not even really sure what lies they are using to get people to vote for them this time. If anything, I would vote for the Green Party. 0 Share this post Link to post

iori Posted June 29, 2004 -Liberals -Conservative -New Democratic Party (ndp) -Bloc Quebecois (what the frenchies vote for) and the 'other' section, which include the green party among others. Alas, I missed the voting due to timing issues, but there is always next year. I am particularily happy with Jack Layton's (NDP) speech, and am glad the Liberals arent so powerful now. Maybe western interests will get *some* recognition now. If only Preston Manning had stayed in, and the Reform party was still alive.... *sigh* 0 Share this post Link to post
