Cool, I have that one too. Best-looking card ever ;)
And it overclocks like hell. I really hope it can keep up with DooM3, its not the newest card but i love it :P

YEEEES, bless my Finacee. She knows i have been waiting for Doom 3 for ages. I just spoke to her about this thread and how my card 9800 is crap. So she said (im currently not working, college..) she will lend me the money to get a new card...

:), heheh. Within 2 mins of posting here, I now have £300.00 to spend on a new card.

Any recommendations... Im thinking I might go to nivida's camp.

9800 is crap

Woah now.. If you're talking about an ATI Radeon 9800 then that is definately NOT crap. It should be more than enough to play Doom 3. But what the hell, since your girlfriend gave you the money might as well buy a newer one.. and give me the 9800 while you're at it :P

Anyways, my 3 year old computer's specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 1.5ghz
RAM: 128MB (SD)RAM (don't know what exact type)
VIDEO: Ati Radeon 9200 128-MB DDR
SOUND: Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer 5.1
MOUSE: Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman
KEYBOARD: Logitech Elite Keyboard
MONITOR: 15" LCD Screen (max resolution: 1024x768)

Of course, I would say my computer is crap, until I read Ravage's post.

P4 2.4Ghz
768MB Ram (DDR-400)
Radeon 9800
Good old Sound Blaster PCI 512 (I'll be using headphones anyway)
Infocus X1 Front Projection (usually around 80 inches on the wall)

The problem is I don't have a house to play it in so I'm gonna have to blow 80 bucks to hole up in a motel for two nights. Stupid homelessness. I'm sure it'll be worth it though.

You have a computer with those specs and a digital projector and yet you don't have a place to live? Priorities...

I guess I better list mine:

AthlonXP 2000+
1GB Corsair XMS PC3200
Radeon 8500 AIWDV
GA-7N400V Pro mobo
200GB WD SATA
1x30GB WD & 1x40GB WD (ATA/133)
Sound blaster live! 5.1

I hope to pick up a 9800PRO AIW in the extremely near future, but I have to handle moving first.

Needless to say I built the computer before I became homeless. I wouldn't make that kind of a purchase if I had no place to use it.

Lemme see...

2.0 ghz pentium 4 processor
512 mb or ram
40 gb hard drive
Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller
A lot of sound and video codecs (dunno if that helps)
Keyboard and mouse
NVIDIA Geforce 2 MX/MX 400

Dunno where my graphic card stands in food chain but i'm betting somewhere near the bottom.

Here's my rig:

AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (@ 2.2 ghz up to 3.0 ghz)

OS: Mandrake Linux 10.0 Official
RAM: 1024 PC333 Corsair Twinx Dual Channel Memory

Audio: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS with Creative Inspire 5.1 Surround Setup

Indi-DVD (TDK) Multi-format DVD/CD burner

I think this should be more than enough to run it. And for only like what was it, between $1200 and $1600, that's not too bad.

Oh yeah, a 430 watt power supply unit.
