Bashe Posted July 24, 2004 I've been messing around with my new PC and the songs with vocals and lots of bass have been sounding quite weird lately. It sounds like theres too little vocals and bass and too much guitar. Turning up the bass with an equalizer just makes everything sound fuzzy and bad. I'm using Windows with Windows 2000 and I'm not sure what the sound card is. I'm using headphones. I used the same headphones on my laptop and it didn't have that problem. To make things clearer, think of the "reduce vocals" effect in Goldwave. It sounds like that kinda. I would use speakers but I have nowhere to put them dammit! My sound playback is SoundMAX digital audio. 0 Share this post Link to post

Bucket Posted July 25, 2004 One of two things are possible: 1) Your new setup has some kind of crappy "widen stereo" feature. Turn off anything fancy. 2) You blew out the tweeters on your headphones. Have a cookie. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted July 25, 2004 It's okay I finally got my speakers set up now. It should be good. Lemme try. Okay it still doesn't sound right. Where can I turn off the fancy stuff? I've tried it in Winamp and such. It all sounds the same. 0 Share this post Link to post
Endureth Posted July 25, 2004 Make sure your speaker wires aren't touching any power wires. -E 0 Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted July 25, 2004 Nope, they aren't. YES! I saved the day. I turned the Stereo Wide volume all the way down and now it's all good. Thanks for the suggestions Numbermid! 0 Share this post Link to post
