MaximusNukeage Posted July 27, 2004 my father is trying to decide between these two high quality german firearms. the H&K P2000-Compact .40 and the H&K USP .45 we are leaning tward the USP because of the external triger and saftey. however the P2000 is a newer design and is easily able to eject dud bullets with another pull of the triger and its size. some of the links we've used to make our choice: http://www.heckler-kochjs.de/html/english/civil/01_pistols/01_images/01_01_weapon_01.jpg http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/product951.html http://www.packing.org/talk/thread.jsp/18884/ http://usashooters.org/artman/publish/article_1626.shtml what do you guys think 0 Share this post Link to post

Relica Religia Posted July 27, 2004 The P2000 is supposed to have better internals and a smoother ease of use than the USP, but the USP is more rugged and reliable. Go for the tried-and-true .45. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted July 27, 2004 I'm assuming he's already bought a .357? Because everybody knows that stopping power and calibur don't mean shit when compared to the fact that you don't even have to fire one round for this gun to be effective. It puts the fear of God into people. 0 Share this post Link to post

MaximusNukeage Posted July 27, 2004 he's prolly gonna go with the USP .45 0 Share this post Link to post
Goliath Posted July 29, 2004 Get the p2000 I have fired one of the copies and they feel so well built and the trigger feels so good in your hand when you fire. It just feels more natural. 0 Share this post Link to post
Tyockell Posted July 29, 2004 .45 all the fuckin way. When you get one get some hollow points and fill the tips with vaseline or petrolium jelly it works with hydrolics and makes the bullet explode quite fun, also helps if your going to shoot someone... clothing has a tendancy to clog the tip so that the fluids in there body dont help to expand the bullet so it does less damage. 0 Share this post Link to post
etimmerAZ Posted July 29, 2004 But both are good. EDIT: Tyockell :/ don't be silly. 0 Share this post Link to post
NightmareZer0 Posted July 29, 2004 I would buy the USP. I hate compact guns because of the bad recoil and the short sight radius. 0 Share this post Link to post
Darkhaven Posted July 30, 2004 I've fired USP and a P2000 before, incidentally. I was taken to a firing range at one point sometime earlier this year, and the USP is (in one case) somewhat more accurate than the P2000. This all really depends on what you're planning on using the weapon for, though. Also, just incase you were wondering, I used JHP bullets. And while on the subject, I've been hearing things about "high-velocity bullets." Are they real? 0 Share this post Link to post

Tyockell Posted July 30, 2004 Personly My favorite handgun is the Charles Daly Field ECS .45 auto http://www.charlesdaly.com/images/firearms/pistols/1911/field/Field%20ECS.jpg My neighbore owns one and I'v never fired a pistol I liked so much there a work of art IMO but do keep in mind due to the compact design and short barrel there is a substantial amount of recoil. 0 Share this post Link to post

More accurate than most other small handguns... Plus, because of it's reliability, it's probably better overall anyway if your dad's going to be a bodyguard. 0 Share this post Link to post
Relica Religia Posted July 30, 2004 Hell, if he can, encourage him to get a USP .45 Tactical and purchase a silencer with it, if he has legal clearance for it. 0 Share this post Link to post
MaximusNukeage Posted July 31, 2004 the extra barrel legnth of the tactical is unnessecary 0 Share this post Link to post
SYS Posted July 31, 2004 You can kill people with both of them so I don't really see what the problem is. 0 Share this post Link to post
