USP .45 ACP vs. P2000 .40 compact

Recommended Posts

my father is trying to decide between these two high quality german firearms.
the H&K P2000-Compact .40

and the H&K USP .45

we are leaning tward the USP because of the external triger and saftey. however the P2000 is a newer design and is easily able to eject dud bullets with another pull of the triger and its size.

some of the links we've used to make our choice:

what do you guys think

The P2000 is supposed to have better internals and a smoother ease of use than the USP, but the USP is more rugged and reliable.

Go for the tried-and-true .45.

I'm assuming he's already bought a .357? Because everybody knows that stopping power and calibur don't mean shit when compared to the fact that you don't even have to fire one round for this gun to be effective. It puts the fear of God into people.

True... or a .44 magnum? Ahh, Dirty Harry is the man.

Get the p2000 I have fired one of the copies and they feel so well built and the trigger feels so good in your hand when you fire. It just feels more natural.

.45 all the fuckin way. When you get one get some hollow points and fill the tips with vaseline or petrolium jelly it works with hydrolics and makes the bullet explode quite fun, also helps if your going to shoot someone... clothing has a tendancy to clog the tip so that the fluids in there body dont help to expand the bullet so it does less damage.

I've fired USP and a P2000 before, incidentally. I was taken to a firing range at one point sometime earlier this year, and the USP is (in one case) somewhat more accurate than the P2000. This all really depends on what you're planning on using the weapon for, though.

Also, just incase you were wondering, I used JHP bullets. And while on the subject, I've been hearing things about "high-velocity bullets." Are they real?

my dad is getting this to do body gaurd work, so what would you sugjest

In that case, take the USP... More accurate than most other small handguns... Plus, because of it's reliability, it's probably better overall anyway if your dad's going to be a bodyguard.

You can kill people with both of them so I don't really see what the problem is.
