To transmit or not to transmit...

Ok, in the communication tower you're given the choice to either send the distress signal (calling reinforcements and risking invasion of Earth) and to cancel the signal (isolating the base). For you guys who are farther along than me, does this choice have any impact on the gameplay? Or is it just a meaningless choice you make to move the story along?

something happens later on that makes your choice not matter.

BTW, you need to unlock your 'pizza order' option from a PDA code you should have found earlier.

It would be better if that Imp was from Doom and not Doom 3.

Heya guys, i've just gotten into the communication's area, and i've been given a choice to transmit the distress signal or not... Any idea's whether I should or not, its playing on my mind horribly!!!

You guys sure it doesn't do anything? I am very far ahead now (just off of the monorail) and I sent the distress signal. I made a separate save for that point and named it "uplink decision", hoping to come back to it if there is another ending/story.

I'm further than you are, and there still isn't any effect yet.
