Auto weapon change

God, I find auto changing weapons so annoying yet helpful at the same time. I mean, I want to turn it off so when I get a good gun, I can keep it out without having to switch back, but I don't want to turn it off because I don't want it to like stay on the pistol when I get a good weapon. I wish you could set weapon priorities so you could decide what's better than what.

For ZDoom, there's a cvar you can change. Go to the console and type NEVERSWITCHONPICKUP TRUE.

He's talking about setting priorities, so that way it'll switch on some weapons, but not on others.

Legacy is the only port I know of that has an option for setting 'weaponprefs' as they're called.

Hmmm...well, I sometimes use Legacy online. That would work.
