ATI card will it cause problems?

If i play Doom 3 on a ATI Radeon 9800XT 128mb will the game crash or play awkwardly because i'm using an ATI card.

Nvidia, on the other hand, is the holy avatar of our benevolent god. Nvidia's graphics chipsets are the ultimate solution for anything you might want to do with your computer, including but not limited to playing Doom 3 the way it was meant to be played.

Just update your drivers to CATALYST 4.7. The game will play beautifully. Try 1024x768, "high quality." Should play great.

Shit i'm screwed guess i'll have to download the latest drivers...oh well thanks for the help any way.

You mean 4.8 right?

no, an ATI card will not give you problems.

My 9600XT runs the game great. I run on "high" and it's fine.

With 4.7 drivers I had to tweak some settings to make it not freeze, but with 4.9b I can leave all the settings at default and it runs fine, no freezing issues at all.

I believe 4.8 would work fine as well, if you didn't want to use beta drivers.
